The hospital that I work in doesn't offer any "specialty" pay in the ER. I'm curious to hear if other states or areas of the country do offer added pay to certain specialty areas.

We don't get any extra money except $1.00 extra per hour for charge. I have ACLS ,PALS, TNCC, and CEN. Howevef the nurses in ICU, CICU, and CCU all make $2.00 over base pay because THEY are critical care units. Obviously, all the pts that I stabilize and take to thier units aren't REALLY sick until they roll in those units. The only thing that keeps me going is the knowledge that there is a special place in hell for hosp administrators.

I don't get paid extra either...CEN, TNS, PALS, ACLS, BTLS, ENPC, etc... Get a lousy $1/hr xtra for charge.
