President Biden thread

Published

Wow.  No one has started such a thread yet?

After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days,  apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.

Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week,  by the end of April.

No, the U&V light is looking for bamboo fibers from the ballots flown in from SE Asia.

Arizona Election Auditors Check Ballots for Bamboo Fibers After Conspiracy Theorists Claim 40,000 Votes Were ‘Flown in’ from Asia

In an interview with journalist Dennis Welch of local CBS affiliate KTVK, Tucson resident and volunteer observer John Brakey explained the bamboo theory in greater detail.

“Well, there’s accusations that 40,000 ballots were flown in to Arizona and stuffed into the box, okay, and it came from the south east part of the world — Asia — and what they’re doing is to find out if there’s bamboo in the paper,” Brakey said.

With THREE prior recounts, would have thought they'd have identified different ballot material by now.

Good for the DOJ Civil Rights Division!  Sent a  letter to Artizona Senate (Republican led) regarding ballot security and potential voter intimidation arising from the their  private recount of the 2020 presidential election results in Maricopa County..

I was just kidding Karen ??. I just thought a panda bear would be even more ludicrous than searching for bamboo fibers with a scanner ????

The congressional Trumpublicans can sharpen their criticism of generous unemployment benefits? Yes, I believe they can be more critical while also doing exactly nothing besides play politics. Have they cancelled Cheney yet? That's keeping them pretty busy.

No shortages of jobs in this story!  And it was like this pre-Covid.

They are spinning the story as a side-effect of generous unemployment benefits.  Just give me the facts.  The story up to that point was merely pointing out what the Labor Department said - fine.  We will probably never know why some people would rather live on unemployment benefits over working.  My general philosophy is "Pay them and they will comel"  I'd love to see that experiment.  But this is a website that caters to yellow journalism and readers that don't mind.

LOL

The Free Beacon has an observed history of providing information from an intentionally biased perspective using garbage and nonsense in its content.  Why would you want to take chances with information when you know that there are more reliable sources for factual content?

I could guess why...

The COC of notoriously Republican bent.  This is the last paragraph of their letter to the US House of Reps opposing the $15 minimum wage;           There is a path forward on a minimum wage increase that would benefit employees and employers, and the Chamber looks forward to working with members of Congress to strike the right balance and develop a legislative package that responsibly increases the federal minimum wage. We will, however, strongly oppose and work against the current politically driven proposal to more than double the minimum wage to $15 per hour.                              Maybe they are correct or maybe they aren't.  We have NO way of knowing in any reasonable way, what people's reasons are for not returning to work.  However I am including this from the Brookings Institute.edu (leans SLIGHTLY to the left) a more informative approach to  the problem.  More informative then Joe Blow saying he knows someone who knows some who gets more money to stay home.  Pay them enough and they will come.  We will see what happens when we reach herd imminuty, but until then lots of people will have legitimate reasons for not returning to work (taking care of debilitated parents or children for example).  I had a kid in family court who made more money selling drugs than he could make at McDonald's and there was just no talking him out of it and when you have been on your own since 11 years old, it makes sense to me.   How did he do it?  Amazingly was able to couch surf the whole time but when he was 17 and needed medical care, he moved up into the radar coverage when there was adult accompanying him.   Pay them and they will come.
