President Biden thread

Published

Wow.  No one has started such a thread yet?

After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days,  apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.

Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week,  by the end of April.

Well, I'm sorry you feel my comment was peculiar, but I was quite certain the person I was replying to would understand the reference, since I've only seen or heard one person use the phrase in recent times, and that was Naomi Biden. Perhaps we are seeking news and current events in altogether different places. This is her entire statement.

I do think the definition of "smut" encompasses more categories than just fairies having sex, although the last person I heard actually say the word in general conversation was my grandmother, and she passed away in 1969.

Her definition seems a little narrow, but accurate as far as it goes. Amazon is making serious bank off it, too.

So, in your view the book, those named in the book, the other two books, those speaking out in public, all lack credibility because Naomi Biden ( from the long list of trustworthy Biden's) says it's all made up?

Where are all those who actually worked with Biden who are saying it's all made up?

As a side note, she seems to contradict herself when she says the authors are absolving themselves of responsibility.   Responsibility for helping in the cover-up?  What else would she be speaking of?

As a matter of fact, she did not say the authors are absolving themselves of responsibility. She said:

It relies on unnamed, anonymous sources pushing a self-serving false narrative that absolves them of any responsibility for our current national nightmare.

That is 100% true. They want to say it, but they don't want to be fact-checked or called out on it. Cowardice at its's worst. I find it peculiar that anyone would imply unnamed anonymous sources are more trustworthy than a family member.

And, how about the named sources?  The lack of others saying its all made up?  People speaking up in public?  What we've seen with our own eyes?  For fun, we'll throw in George Clooney's observations?

You're sticking with Naomi Biden, huh?

I don't know about fun, but it's definitely funny that Trump world now considers a card-carrying member of the left coast Hollywood elite a diagnostician on par with Alois Alzheimer himself. Why? Biden didn't seem to recognize him, and what's worse,

Wow. Haven't been here in a while. So they still are saying "don't believe your lying eyes" about Biden? He not even president anymore LOL.

The only explanation is that they are trying so hard to plug Trump's "decline" that they need to gas light about Biden's.  I mean if you were to compare..... But we should belive their non qualified opinion. TDS

Of course it is more credible. They have to deny Biden's obvious cognitive decline and it's cover up so that they can plug Trump's "cognitive decline". Not realizing it makes any argument they make about Trump ridiculous.

'Jake Tapper Compares Joe Biden Health 'Cover-Up' to Watergate"

"Tapper replied: "The next line is: 'It is an entirely separate scandal.' It is a scandal. It is, without question. And maybe even worse than Watergate in some ways, because Richard Nixon was in control of his faculties when he was not drinking. So the idea that, yeah, we don't mean to exonerate [Biden]."

He also noted that the mention of Watergate followed an excerpt in the book in which former Watergate prosecutor Archibald Cox had explained "how presidents get surrounded by people who have a vested interest in keeping that president propped up."

HA!  Tapper trying to pretend he was the biggest Buden cognition propagandists LOL.

I don't know that many are denying it still, except for the one immediately above.  And, I don't think she/he realizes is the only one.

Most seem to get annoyed that Biden and the cover-up are mentioned.  They just want to ignore it.  Annoyed perhaps because what I have been pointing out here for a few years has proven to be true while they were in denial for all that time.

You didn't mention deflection to Trump's mental illness.

I do want to ignore it mostly myself.  As I said that he ended in Presidency competently and wasn't incapacitated and it's over.  If anything is uncovered that he had severe dementia and someone else was running the country and forcing him to make decisions then I suppose I'll pay more attention.  Right now it's kind of "meh...he's a has been and time to move on".

Don't let it come as a shock to you, but there's deflection and then there's looking over there. Trump's mental health has been discussed at least since his days as a birther. So, who's deflecting from what?

I agree that continued obsession with Biden's alleged deficiencies are "meh", but have a totally different take on why it continues to be flogged. Steve Bannon used to talk about "flooding the zone" as a strategy for dominating public discourse. I think that's what we're seeing play out here.

When someone is talking about Biden, I don't think it's fair to change the subject to Trump.  That stance of mine is legendary.

I can understand why the right is making a big deal about the so-called bombshells coming out about the Biden administration.  It certainly is telling that they are so willing to deep dive into an ex-President while ignoring the elephant in the room.
