Wow. No one has started such a thread yet?
After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days, apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.
Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week, by the end of April.

This is part of the chaos that I was referring to. Put unqualified people without any managerial experience in charge of huge departments and things will break down.
Tweety said:No, but finding some parallels in places like Norway and all of Europe where the populace is generally disarmed and there are age limits and other restrictions to social media. Germany itself bans references to the Third Reich. Some countries decided they didn't want a free for all when Elon Musk bought Twitter, now X.
The idea that one group is responsible for all of the oppression of the other group. Yes Democrats probably do that to white cis men for than republicans, who chose to scapegoat immigrants and the transgendered. So maybe that's like Germany blaming the Jews for the world's problems?
I really don't know how Republicans scapegoat immigrants and the transgendered.
I think allocating all the ills of a society on one group is a very dangerous idea that we have seen the detrimental effects in history. Even if it's "cis white men". Because it will be cis white men today and then another tomorrow. It can never be allowed.
We could go back and forth in which side looks more like Nazis all day. The bottom line is neither side is even remotely comparable to Nazi Germany. The throwing around of Nazi and Hitler has degraded the actual meaning of the words. Hopefully the democrats will learn that this was a disastrous very inappropriate way to win in a democracy. Hopefully Trump winning will set the phenomenon back to when these words had meaning and not to be used frivolousley. And maybe we can be seen for who we are and not what's in our pants and the color of our skin.

I do hope departments don't break down but that there will be pressures to keep things from breaking down.
I don't necessarily like the idea of pesticides, but again being science minded there are studies out there showing that organically grown food is healthier than conventionally grown food.
subee said:I can agree with that. The Democrats made lots of horrible decisions. The biggest one was not getting rid of him sooner BUT Trump would refuse to step down under the same circumstances. He is living proof of his incompetence and wanting the worst for a large swath of the population.
Trump wasn't in that circumstance, so it's irrelevant speculation.
You can thank Biden that Trump has been elected.
Seems to me then that Biden is the living (barely) proof of his own incompetence.

I don't blame Biden as much as I blame the Democratic party. They couldn't wrangle him just like the Republicans will never be able to control Trump. But Biden wasn't a megalomaniac so I voted for him.

Again, it wasn't a big part of the Dems campaign or Harris's. And yes we can go back and forth so I will stop but feel free to continue to make a big deal and harp on it all you want.
Some conservative Tik Tokers are adopting the the song "Not Ready to Make Nice" by the Chicks because their feelings were hurt by the Dems. Fair enough.
Trump won the election and the popular vote.

Harris couldn't shake off Biden and his border, inflation and other issues. Biden is significant in her loss. The Democrat party was really pumped up. In failure neither has anything to be ashamed of.

I wasn't "harping" on anything. I replied to a post.
I could post several times several democrats including Biden comparing Trump to Hitler. However because we are not wanting to harp, I won't.
Yes. He won the election including the popular vote. You tend to mention that more than I do.
I will say some democrats are self reflecting the Nazi /fascist/ dictator rhetoric may contributed to the popular vote? No need to harp tho.

You have mentioned it many times. Fair enough, after the assassination attempts the Republicans turned the mirror on Dem rhetoric and they need to reflect. But even then Vam e et tal on blaming Biden and Harris didn't talk about being called Nazi's that much. To me it's pot meet kettle but the tabble was turned.. But reflecting is a good thing.
Harris did win the third highest number of votes in history and ran a good campaign. Trump reached people on another level and won the popular vote. "Their eating the dogs and they are eating the cats". Trump ran a good campaign as incoherent and dishonest as it was towards then end.

The cats and dogs was a thing that came up at a town council meeting then went viral. Trump stupidity repeated it . He nor Vance made it up out of thin air. I cringed when Trump said it. I wish he didn't. Of course Vance ran cover.
In my opinion referencing Hitler and Nazis crosses the line. And are we going to pretend that it was suggested on left msm and even in this very forum that support for Trump was support for Nazis? Yes. Trump went after other politicians and political media but he didn't slander the everyday democrat voter. People were listening and voted accordingly. To me it's pot meet mass Nazi crematorium. Both black with soot but one far more sinister.
It's a sore spot for me sure. And yes I'm thrilled with the outcome of the election. However playing on the deaths of millions of people to gain power is a special type of evil. It worked in 2020 I guess until it didn't anymore.
I'm happy that some democrats are reflecting on this. But I'm not convinced they are considering they did anything wrong per say but wish they did something different. Not forecasting what the implication it truly is.
That's it. I'll try to stop harping now.

If the Democrats had played it smarter, they would have promoted themselves (and behaved accordingly) as the moderate party since we would then only have one. And every single Democrat should have gotten the memo. The point is to win and they forgot that. The gave the word "progressive" a slant it didn't deserve.
