Wow. No one has started such a thread yet?
After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days, apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.
Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week, by the end of April.
Beerman said:LOL...Funny how you first say that the Biden case is nothing but innuendo, speculation, and unsubstantiated claims and then you try to contrast that to the Trump "rape" case. In the Trump case, the ONLY evidence was the testimony of the plaintiff in multi-million dollar civil case and her two friends. Sounds like unsubstantiated claims to me.
BTW, you're a bit off to say the judge called Trump a rapist. It was a jury trial, and the jury found him liable for sexual abuse. The judge later felt the need to say the jury said it was the same as rape.
As for the fraud, yes one judge said he is liable for fraud. I have a open mind. I've asked several times if any here can explain how he defrauded the people of New York. No one has come up with anything plausible, imo.
I don't think that Jean Carroll is a liar. She has the company of 11 other women who made the same claim. The jury had a decision to make and they also decided that Trump isn't credible. As for what the harm Trump did in NY, he filed bankruptcy 4 times. That can be devastating to his creditors. It is fraudulent to lie on loan applications because there are plenty of people and institutions damaged when one applies for a bigly bailout opposed to a smaller amount bankruptcy. Why do you think he is so despised in NYC that he has been relegated to New Jersey now?

I'm not aware of 11 woman who have made the claim that Trump has raped them. Do you have a source? As far as I know, law enforcement has never received such a complaint. IDK what the truth is. Neither do you. It's also interesting that Caroll posted in social media years after the supposed rape that she was a fan of The Apprentice. That seems a bit odd to me. It seems obvious she's looking to cash in.
No one has been prosecuted by the state of NY, nor has the state sued on behalf of others for over inflating their self worth on loan and insurance applications.
Until now.
And, his bankruptcies have nothing to do with this case. Except that those giving him loans surely were aware of them when they gave the loans that they made money on when he paid them back.
The AG ran on a get Trump agenda. She's not trying this case, but reportedly is there everyday in the courtroom observing and for her face to be seen. Seems like the AG of NY probably has other things to be doing?
I don't have any kind of personal relationship or warm fuzzy feelings for Trump. I don't even want him to he the Republican candidate.
But, this is a total witchunt, and it should trouble all of us.

We discussed the sexual abuse case against Trump earlier.

Here is part of that discussion.
QuoteKaplan wrote that the jury's unanimous verdict was almost entirely in favor of Carroll, except that the jury concluded she had failed to prove that Trump raped her "within the narrow, technical meaning of a particular section of the New York Penal Law.”
The judge said the section requires lady partsl penetration by a member while forcible penetration without consent of the lady parts or other bodily orifices by fingers or anything else is labeled "sexual abuse" rather than "rape.”
He said the definition of rape was "far narrower" than how rape is defined in common modern parlance, in some dictionaries, in some federal and state criminal statutes and elsewhere.
The judge said the verdict did not mean that Carroll "failed to prove that Mr. Trump 'raped' her as many people commonly understand the word 'rape.’ Indeed ... the jury found that Mr. Trump in fact did exactly that.”
Laws and order works when judges or juries make determinations of guilt or liability. That's how things work. After this civil trial is over Trump will make a big splash about how corrupt and politically motivated it all was and appeal the decision. In the meantime, he seems concerned about the fate of his New York businesses and his sworn testimony today reflects the mind of a very troubled man, IMV.

Quotethe action, including: Trump Endeavor 12 LLC, 401 North Wabash Venture LLC, Trump Old Post Office LLC, 40 Wall Street LLC, and Seven Springs LLC.
Causes of Action
The OAG alleges fraud and illegality under 63(12) in connection with the defendants' conduct in preparing the statements and submitting those statements to financial institutions to obtain financial benefits. As part of demonstrating illegality under 63(12), OAG alleges that Mr. Trump and the other defendants violated state laws, including:
Falsification of business records in violation of Penal Law § 175.10;
Issuing a false financial statement in violation of Penal Law § 175.45;
Engaging in insurance fraud by submitting false and misleading information in a written application for insurance and to obtain other insurance benefits in violation of Penal Law § 176.05;
Engaging in a conspiracy to commit each of aforementioned state law violations.
The judge clearly thought at least some of that was plausible and is now deciding to what extent Trump will be held accountable. Ivanka will testify tomorrow and then the judge will deliberate. I'm sure it will all be totally unfair and biased against Trump in an attempt to influence (maybe even steal) the next election. Yes that was sarcasm.

Whatever. That was a side point. My fault for giving you an open door to deflect through.
The point I made in my post was showing the hypocrisy and bias of saying that multiple pieces of evidence against Biden doesn't prove anything while believing the word of one plaintiff and two of her friends in a multimillion dollar lawsuit is proof of Trump wrongdoing.
Was he supposed to not do his other business because there was a protest? Protests are almost daily and heckling is becoming a problem. He would be ridiculed for taking refuge in the White House. Or should have stayed and gone outside to address and confront the protests? Or just allowed them to happen. What is "too bad" about it.
It must be interesting to see the likes of McConnel support Biden in not demanding a cease fire and get to watch the demise of Biden because of his support of the conflict at the same time.
Anyway, there were pro-Palestinian protests in London, Berlin, Paris and even Dakar and an American military base in Turkey. It's rapidly becoming a huge issue.

I think you're correct in that only two of his accusers have taken action, not 11. The latest list of accusers apparently stands at 26 and not all were accusations of rape. And of course no one knows the truth. He claims some of them were paid by others to make the accusations, that the liberal press has made it all up to smear him.
All kinds of people have fallen from grace with even less accusations, but not Trump. There's a good chance he'll become President.

Again, there are no multiple pieces of evidence that Biden broke laws, as the GOP witnesses testified under oath. No evidence to support impeachment. The difference is that Trump's culpability was decided by a jury after hearing and looking at evidence. That makes your point a comparison of no evidence in a partisan political effort to actual evidence in a court of law.
That's how law and order works.
toomuchbaloney said:I stand in the belief that there is currently no evidence that Joe Biden broke laws or conducted himself in a fashion that warrants impeachment.
Those goslposts must be mounted on wheels.
So, to fully answer my question, do you stand in the belief of most Americans in that he has acted unethically? Or do you stand in the belief he has done nothing wrong?
I expect Elton John to soon be prosecuted or sued for fraud.

Not everyone wants to answer your question or the pollsters. Perhaps TMB, like myself isn't going to answer and maybe you should give up on insisting on an answer. He clearly has stated he wants proof.. Some are "none of the above until the truth comes out". Why do we have to have an opinion?
Oh well, at least I have the luxury of never saying I believe Trump was guilty of anything that wasn't proven, so I'm not a hypocrite am I?
Anyway, speaking of opinions, people are pretty gloomy heading in 2024.
QuoteA year before the presidential election, three-quarters of Americans (76%) believe the country is headed in the wrong direction and the leading Democratic and Republican candidates are viewed broadly unfavorably, according to a new ABC News/Ipsos poll. Only 23% of Americans think the country is headed in the right direction.
Republicans are overwhelmingly negative, with 95% thinking things in this country are heading in the wrong direction, followed by 76% of independents and 54% of Democrats, according to the poll.

So asking one price and getting more is fraud? Damn, and I admitted on this board that happened to me when my ex and I were selling a condo a while back and got more than we asked for. I hope no one figures it out and sues me.

What exactly do you want Biden to do about protesters at the WH today? Do we have to make our little intramural civil conflicts even worst? I woukd bring my own personal water truck with hoses if I could:)
