It was more of a rhetorical question.   I think some are unaware of how often he "misspeaks".  It is interesting that others deflected from him to the source I linked to.  One commented on the source in three different posts before finally stating it was a verbal gaffe.

And, still no one has tried to claim that the story I linked to was inaccurate.

Yeah it's a verbal gaffe that you are trying to make into something important. You tried so hard that you had to use a Chinese right wing rag in the attempt.  It's weird but expected because it's pretty clear that Trump is mentally ill and he inspires a rather unsavory and erratic group of republican "politicians"... so projections and hyperbole are expected.

And, it's not a China-backed source.  So, when you say "Chinese right wing rag", are you dismissing it because the employees are of Chinese descent?

 

As I've said, discernment is a problem for too many conservative voters and this comment reflects that.  I know what The Epoch Times is and you are the one comfortable using them as a source of information.  And I didn't say that it was "China- backed", that's a strawman argument.  Saying that The Epoch Times is China backed is like saying that Truth Social is US backed, right?

Are you trying to suggest that I'm racist against Chinese people because I don't consider The Epoch Times a reliable source of anything? That's an example of "trying hard", IMV.

It doesn't have to be affiliated with the Chinese government to represent Chinese propaganda... just like Truth Social isn't part of the government but it's an example of an American propaganda outlet. 

Sure... you project ignorance of what the media outlet is onto me, after admitting that you just learned some things about them AND used them as a source of information.  This is like a bad attempt at gaslighting.

And the thing is, as opposed to other times when Biden actually is lying and/or confused, imo, this one really could be chalked up to him misspeaking.  Some sure spent a lot of energy dancing around it, however.

Of course, sharing right wing extremist views from foreign actors seeking to destabilize our democracy is commonplace now among Republicans like Ron Johnson or MTG or Gosar and conservative voters have been conditioned to simply accept lies without evidence. CPAC tweets Russian support and elevated right wing authoritarians.  This is not new but it is at a pinnacle that threatens to topple our democracy as conditioned voters are convinced that the government is their enemy.  Discernment is broken in Republican politics. 

You are right, TMB, in that the Epoch Times is viscerally right wing.  It is the "news" organ of the Falun Gong and just because they are outlawed in China doesn't mean that they are a friend to us.  Their leader "Master Li" is a full-fledged nut job who believes he is the supreme leader of the world.  I think I've heard of that ego type myself!  When one goes and looks for uber-partisan sources of information, they have to spend time to who is REALLY behind this source.  Caveat Emptor - best motto ever.
