President Biden thread

Published

Wow.  No one has started such a thread yet?

After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days,  apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.

Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week,  by the end of April.

She’s not appearing before the January 6th committee and why would she?  Do you have any EVIDENCE that he has been influenced in any way?   I can answer that for you.  NO!!

This issue isn't really that she's "been influenced", it's that she's been one of the most prominent influencers.

Ginny Thomas, and the organizations she is a leader / representative of, have been consistently implicated in a variety of aspects related to attempts to subvert the result of the 2020 election.

Shes not been called by the January 6th commission.  She hasn’t been harassed by the FBI.  She apparently hasn’t broken any laws, so not sure what the complaint is.

Prove it... your uncertainty is only evidence that you don't know much about this topic... by choice.

Nah... you claimed that the Select Committee hasn't contacted her for testimony... you should prove that.  You intimate that she hasn't broken laws... try to prove that.

Your opinion of my emotional state is as unreliable as your other opinions AND it is irrelevant to the topic that you don't know much about.

Sorry, I don't understand your first sentence. Who is the Maverick?

And no, John Roberts may be the chief justice, but he does not seem to be running anything. If he did, he would put pressure on an associate justice to recuse himself in cases where his spouse is involved.

When a classroom case comes up to SCOTUS in which a teacher urged their colleagues to "release the Kraken" and egged them on to increase their level  of participation to violence, I'll give some consideration to MB's point.

Again your anger is showing.  If you are making accusations that one should recuse themselves it is up to you to prove it.

Another thing you are ignorant about that isn't related to the topic. What accusation did I make?

I believe that Justice Thomas should recuse himself around decisions including the 2020 election, since it's been revealed that his spouse has communicated with several groups connected to overturning the election, including Arizona legislators.

I am sorry, my computer is acting up and I cannot attach any links.

No there is not.  If someone’s spouse was a teacher that would mean they never could rule on classroom cases.  They have to be above that and I would think the spouse would believe that. I see no examples of influence on justice Thomas.  As a matter of fact he’s ruled against the administration.

I agree.  He should be able to be above any influence, from anyone.  All the justices have people in their lives involved in different things who have varied opinions on issues.

Judges recuse themselves usually so there isn't any appearance that they may be influenced, not because they believe they will be.  And to not give one side a reason to file for an appeal.

Also, those judges are

simply replaced.  There is no replacement for a Supreme Court justuce.
