Wow. No one has started such a thread yet?
After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days, apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.
Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week, by the end of April.
QuoteI would say that the whole administration has been a poop show, one mess after another.
QuoteI will say the appearance of being directionless is accurate because what direction to you go when there's a war in Ukraine that's affecting us at home, or a supply chain disrupted by things you can't control. There's no roadmap.
I don't think this administration is any worse than previous ones. One thing is for certain, not nearly as many officials have resigned in disgrace as, shall we say, others. I rather like a boring administration that just gets on with the business of administering the laws passed by Congress. I guess others appreciate more fireworks and bloviating.
Directionless? Hmm, COVID cases low, more therapeutics available, new vaccines in the pipeline. Also, unemployment at record lows, gas prices slowly coming down, store shelves slowly filling, infrastructure projects starting. He has had more judges appointed at this point in his administration that any other since 1981. And don't forget the historical appointment of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson.

"We're not any worse than the other guys! Biden/ Harris (or, TBD) 2024"
If only it was believable.

I don't understand what you are saying here.
It is clear that you disapprove of the current administration, or at least Biden. But other than a speech impediment, what else has he done wrong? Is it his cabinet appointments? Judges? Uniting NATO members in support of Ukraine? Roll back of another president's programs? Is it because bills aren't getting through the Senate?
Immigration has been a mess for years, but now it is Joe and Joe alone who must fix it?

Well, I'm talking about the subject at hand and not any previous administrations. But yes, I've been alive long enough to see poop show administrations. For example the four years prior to Biden but that's not the topic.
I distinctly remember a poster hear bemoaning that we could only focus on Trump's failures and not his accomplishments. The table is turned. It's just what people do.
It's the appearance of being directionless that is the public relationship nightmare for him and it's true. Like you said above immigration has been a mess for a long time, gas prices really are out of his control, the supply chain and inflation are largely out of his control, the war in Ukraine affecting us is out of his control, the delta and omicron variant squashed his idea of getting covid under control. People are looking for a fix and direction and there really can't be one.
He tries by giving away test kits, releasing oil, giving Ukraine aid, deportation and other things but it isn't enough.
Even with all the good you've mentioned above 56% of Americans In January said his first year was a failure.

I think a great deal of the American public is woefully ignorant about the role of the President of the United States. Half of the population is below average in intelligence.

Not much else to add.
I didn't know doggy opthamologists existed until a year ago. My dog has one, too. LOL
Saw Elton John in Vegas once. Amazing! "
What you posted here is baloney. Show me where it says that 49% of the public supports mask mandates - what ever that means. Do you mean mandates on planes or mandates everywhere else? Do you mean mandates this week of April, 2022 or do you mean mandates when the ICU beds are filled? It's just not an all or nothing paradigm. And who cares what 56% of Americans believe about Biden's past year? Who were these people and what exactly were the questions?. We are at the 50% moron mark now so I don't believe that any opinion piece based on the "man on the street" means that Biden actually did an awful job or whether that's what people who are ignorant have been led to believe. We are in very uncomfortable times but I don't know that any one person has the power to make it any better. Who would you like to see as our new savior?

Majority of Americans support mask mandates for travel, AP-NORC poll finds

I wasn't questioning whether the majority of people supports mask mandates on planes Beerman's quote was that 49% of people supported mask mandates. He didn't limit it to flying. There's a world of difference between the two and he wasn't clear.

Did you read either official the two articles?

We were talking about the lifting of the mask mandate on planes in the posts just prior to Beerman posting about the 49%. It was one of the topics in the article about Biden having a bad few days that we were talking about.
So if you were following the thread, both before and after he said it, it should have been very clear. No need to nitpick

There were several questions about the pandemic, inflation, supply chains, rising tensions in Europe.
The article did mention a disconnect, that J22 and I kind of were talking about, in that there were some good economic numbers but people felt that he wasn't doing a good job on the economy.
While these polls are a dime a dozen, I would venture to say that while you don't care, there are plenty that pay attention.

My guess is that people think planes being such an enclosed space should require a mask moreso than out in public. I guess it's not surprising the judge against the mask mandate is in Florida. LOL
I've seen this show before but my niece not knowing so bought me tickets. The show was canceled once due to him being sick and once for covid. I've had these tickets two years and can't wait. Saw him in the 70's, 90's, and 2020's. Most likely this will be the last. Love him.
