Wow. No one has started such a thread yet?
After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days, apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.
Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week, by the end of April.

Well, at least you all are acknowledging that this administration is a dumpster fire, although your blame is misplaced.
No, President Joe Biden is a good person and not a dictator. The real dumpster fire of an administration was led by Trump. A hateful incompetent misled 4 years of nothing but failed White Supremacy policies cannot be matched by anything any president we had or (hopefully) ever will have ever again! In fact, Trump was such a nightmare, he has not gone away!
The twice impeached traitor and the king of no accountability has yet to concede that he lost the 2020 election and he and his goons attempted to tear down our democracy on Jan 6. Yet, Trump supporters have no problem with that ... none at all!
Have Trump supporters conceded that Trump is not president, was twice impeached (yep... it sticks), and an incompetent traitor to this country? I suppose it may happen if Tucker Carlson stops parroting hate spewed by white supremacists and their so-called news outlet to Trump supporters because the country is moving towards freedom and diversity. However, I am not optimistic.

What does any of that have to do with the disaster that is the Biden administration?
I wouldn't say that Biden's 2021 was a "dumpster fire" but it certainly was a "hot mess".
I'm not sure if the above link will work but it sums it up briefly. Some of the things Democrats like such as the vaccine mandate and the infrastructure package aren't viewed as positives from the right.
I think we all can agree the withdrawal from Afghanistan was a failure. The person in the video mentions that this might not weigh heavily on voter's minds but it's something republicans rightfully will be unforgiving about and will harp on. Inflation, the supply chain, covid, are all a hot mess for him.
Interestingly the video doesn't mention the border which is a huge deal to the right.
I don't blame him for not being able to unify what is now a toxic political and cultural war in our country. Jesus Christ himself wouldn't be able to accomplish this.

Is this a serious post?
So much for his promise to beat the virus. LOL
"Speaking just before a meeting with some of the nation's governors, Biden said: "There is no federal solution. This gets solved at a state level."

Don't be so obvious in your glee at being able to use this against Biden.
But yeah, what he said was
"I’m never going to raise the white flag and surrender. We’re going to beat this virus. We’re going to get it under control, I promise you. "
Obviously he hasn't surrendered, and there's work to do and pledging to help states is a good idea. Especially when resistance to vaccines, masks and any mitigation efforts is strong in some states. I don't blame Biden for not getting it under control. We had an orificenal and people rejected it and some of those same people want to throw it back in his face that he failed. SMH

It's difficult for a reasonable person to evaluate the damage that stupid people can do. Stupid people, as proven by where we are now in this pandemic, are very dangerous. I am sure that Biden, along with me, never anticipated that 30% of the population would not take advantage of a vaccine. It is unfathomable to reasonable people that people like Rand Paul, Jim Jordan and MTG would be elected to office. Failed, failed and failed. It is unfathomable that people would support traumatizing health care workers because of what they read on facebook. Did I mention that stupid people are very dangerous?

I remember talking to an educator friend of mine, long before covid and expressed my concern about the "dumbing down of America". How logic, science and even good old common sense seems to have gone by the wayside. The last couple of years has me convinced that the dumbing down of America is complete and we are in our downfall.

I read a book about 15 years ago and I thought the title was The Dumbing of America. I don't see it now on a Google search which has become more difficult because so many other authors have written more recent books about the same subject. Maybe that is happening because the process is becoming more accelerrated and hence, obvious.

Actually, the quote I had in mind was the one he used over and over again on the campaign trail.. "I'm not going to shut down the economy. I'm not going to shut down the country. I'm going to shut down the virus."
Then on July 4th he pretty much declared victory.
Don't forget the mandates he put or has tried to put in place
Now, he's saying there isn't much he can do. It's up to the states.
I'm not really gleeful I have this to use against him. I was more amused that he would say such a thing. Frankly, I'm a bit surprised anyone is defending it. I thought if anything, it would be said that he misspoke

I admitted no such thing.
I'm not blaming Trump as much I'm correctly identifying the ways that he dismantled and weakened our institutions and our trust in experts or government function. He is accountable for his actions, lack of action and corrupt disregard for the greater good.
The buck already stops with Biden. He's the POTUS and he's publicly stated that as his frame of mind. That sentiment was a refreshing change from the previous president. It simply will take much longer than a year to discover all of the ways that Trump has corrupted and weakened institutions. I imagine we will stop talking about it when his influence is no longer negatively affecting us.
