Pregnancy after COVID vaccine?

I love my father, but he is a conspiracy theorist and has gone down the rabbit hole. He's convinced that the vaccine will have effect on women's fertility. I think maybe he got to me a bit. I am vaccinated and will be taking my booster soon. However, I am anxious of getting my daughter vaccinated. She's 11, and will be 12 in Spring. What she wants more than anything in life is to be a mother. If something I did messed that up for her one day, I could never forgive myself.

Please help... if you are pregnant after being fully vaccinated, or know people who are, please let me know. I think I'll feel better about her getting vaccinated once she's 12. Thanks!

EVERYBODY is vulnerable to this infection.
As for fertility effects, I'm way past menopause, so if I get pregnant, I'm in very deep doo-doo. VAERS would definitely hear from me.

Get your daughter the vaccine as soon as it's available, and don't forget the one for cervical cancer for her, either. And thank your lucky stars she lives in a time where these are available.

Ditto, coming from a survivor of cervical cancer caused by HPV 16.

Young, pregnant and unvaccinated: Hospitals confront a wave of severe illness and death

The medical establishment has now fully endorsed receiving the coronavirus vaccine during pregnancy. The CDC formally recommended it on Aug. 11, after long-awaited studies showed no increased risk of miscarriage. Leading obstetrics and gynecology organizations unequivocally backed vaccination in late July.

Also adding their voices to the current push: those who have faced devastating consequences as a result of hesitation. In interviews and social media posts, they have shared stories of emergency Caesarean sections, premature deliveries, lost mothers and lost babies, hoping to reach others who are unsure about the shots.

Please vaccinate.

This word sure gets tossed around a lot.

It may be possible you are misusing this word.  The overwhelming people currently using this word, then coming to the opposite conclusion of professional researchers, would indicate some degree of misunderstanding.

There really should be a different word when one is talking about doing a Google search, then being directed by an algorithm specifically designed to overemphasise one's bias.

Agreed.
Problem is informed consent has gone down the drain. Health care professionals need to do a better job of it all the way around.

Give me an example of informed consent going down the drain.  I'll play along.

Intrigued, but pretty obvious where this is going.

A relative of mine is anti vax. She gives anyone in her sphere major grief if they choose to get vaccinated. She refuses to wear a mask, refuses to social distance, refuses to take any kind of mitigation measures whatsoever. You might guess that she is also a rabid MAGA adherent, and you would be right.

She recently got Covid while about 20 weeks pregnant, mild symptoms only. A week or so into her infection, her baby died in utero.

The sad end to her pregnancy likely had nothing to do with Covid. Might have happened anyway, as has happened with many other pregnancies. She might have gotten the vaccine and still gotten a breakthrough infection.  But I have to think she will probably go to her grave wondering if Covid was what brought about the death of her developing child. And will she wonder if she could have done anything to prevent it? Or will she double down on her insistence that Covid is just one big hoax?

I would guess that she will double down.  It takes a certain type of cognitive dissonance to have had those views in the first place, and that very type of thought process will protect her against the pain of accepting responsibility for a poor choice.  Tragic.

I agree. So sad.

Just read a paper that noted increasing pregnancy losses being seen in unvaccinated pregnant women. Considering its vascular effects, you have to wonder about that placenta.
