Pregnancy after COVID vaccine?

I love my father, but he is a conspiracy theorist and has gone down the rabbit hole. He's convinced that the vaccine will have effect on women's fertility. I think maybe he got to me a bit. I am vaccinated and will be taking my booster soon. However, I am anxious of getting my daughter vaccinated. She's 11, and will be 12 in Spring. What she wants more than anything in life is to be a mother. If something I did messed that up for her one day, I could never forgive myself.

Please help... if you are pregnant after being fully vaccinated, or know people who are, please let me know. I think I'll feel better about her getting vaccinated once she's 12. Thanks!

Ditto, coming from a survivor of cervical cancer caused by HPV 16.

Me too! I wish there we a vaccine for this back when it happened to me.

A relative of mine is anti vax. She gives anyone in her sphere major grief if they choose to get vaccinated. She refuses to wear a mask, refuses to social distance, refuses to take any kind of mitigation measures whatsoever. You might guess that she is also a rabid MAGA adherent, and you would be right.

She recently got Covid while about 20 weeks pregnant, mild symptoms only. A week or so into her infection, her baby died in utero.

The sad end to her pregnancy likely had nothing to do with Covid. Might have happened anyway, as has happened with many other pregnancies. She might have gotten the vaccine and still gotten a breakthrough infection.  But I have to think she will probably go to her grave wondering if Covid was what brought about the death of her developing child. And will she wonder if she could have done anything to prevent it? Or will she double down on her insistence that Covid is just one big hoax?

Fetal demise occurs at higher rates in women who get Covid so yes, maybe an infection was responsible.  The worm in her brain will probably come up with another explanation to avoid the shame of guilt of her poor decision.  I hope she will get vaccinated and get pregnant again when she gets her head screwed on tight.

I truly doubt she will get vaccinated-now that she has had Covid, she will be saying how natural immunity will protect her.

But you are right about the guilt-after she has a while to process it and work her way through her heartbreak, she probably will conclude that it was all just a coincidence.

Some people are not capable of admitting being wrong about the smallest of things, much less the big ones. That kind of attitude has become much more ubiquitous in the last 4 or 5 years, at least in a certain demographic.

These brains need de-worming:)  Maybe Ivermectin IS the answer!  Having gone through a stillbirth at 9 months, I understand the pain and the years it takes to recover.  I just can't understand why anyone would chose to inflict this on themselves.  Different brains.  And I agree that this is something new in our society.  IMHO, I believe it is due to peoples' addictions to social media but I can't prove it.

An alarmingly large group of people were told and believe that they cannot trust the public health experts...that leaves them little choice...they are left to believe the social media personalities. Questioning their sources is the same as questioning their lifestyle.

Congrats!.  I hope you can enjoy every moment of your pregnancy (well, that might be a little unrealistic after 8 months:) but sounds like a Spring delivery - good timing!

hehe.. Yes thank you!! Very happy for that for sure! Many blessings to you ❤️

34 years old, and 39+4 weeks pregnant. Having an elective induction this Friday. I'm fine, baby is perfect. Had no issues at all. Got pregnant 2.5 weeks after my 2nd Moderna vaccine back in February.

Update on my relative:

She has doubled down on the anti-vax rhetoric, even viciously berating her diabetic mother for getting the vaccine.

Yup. When I helped my mother in law with COPD get hers this Spring, her daughter was horrified.

They wore their infections (whole family including 3 with type 1 DM) as badges of honor.
