What Are Planning to Take Winter Semester?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Winter semester will be my second semester since starting back to school. This semester I have taking 5 credit hours which is 2 classes.

Next semester I am taking 3 classes, 11 credit hours all which are online.

I am taking Nutrition, English and Math.

I am honestly a little nervous because I am already super busy being a mom to 4 kids under 9 plus I will be watching my g/f newborn sometime in Feb.

So what is everyone planning to take next semester?

Cheryl

Specializes in Cardiac.

AP II, Chem, Micro and their labs. 12 hours of science, the agony!

But then all Prereqs are done and I start nursing core in the fall.

Well...hopefully, I will be starting real NURSING classes! I find out in about a week or so. If I do not get in, I will take Statistics, and some electives since I am already finished with all my pre-reqs.

Keeping my fingers crossed you will be taking the real NURSING classes!!!

I am planning on A&P II, Survey of O-Chem for nursing majors & a silly intro to computers since my computer class from degree one is over 5 years old. Um, hello I use computers everyday  - 11 hours.

Cheryl,

I can definitely say that if you put your mind to it, and really want it...you can do it. Don't stress yourself. I have 4 children also, ages 5-12 with a deployed husband...gone for one year and counting. I am currently taking 5 classes...2 online and 3 on campus, but I don't work. In the winter I'll be taking A&P II, Microbiology, and maybe a philosophy or other related gen ed class. I have done all my other math classes, 2 chemistry, english and other prerequisites. I'm 30, and just started going back to school last fall, but I'm about to graduate with an Associates in General Studies just to have a degree while I wait to get into a Bachelors nursing program. Relax, stay calm, and go forward....as long as you are going at a pace that is comfortable for you.

Just registered for A&P II, Chem. I and Nutrition. Nutrition is online, thank goodness.

I am taking the same classes as you are except for nutrition. I was alittle hesitant to take these two classes together, but its not like it cant be done just have to work hard.

Specializes in future FNP.

Kudos to those of you with kids! I only have 2 - I can't imagine 4. But I bet when you had 2, you couldn't either. ;)

I will be taking A&P II (on-campus this time instead of the crappy online one I'm doing now) and Micro. I could do Nutrition online, but I hope to be working as a nurse assistant so I don't want to load myself up. I started this semester with A&P I, Physics I, and O-Chem, and just withdrew from O-Chem since I decided to go to nursing school and not med school.

hopefully med surg I :o)

Specializes in MICU - CCRN, IR, Vascular Surgery.

I'm retaking English comp online (took it back with my first degree at another college, but got a C so I need to take it since it's a required prereq at this school) and taking A&P1 in the classroom. I'm a little nervous about that one, so I'm listening to a semester's worth of podcasts of an A&P class from another college while I'm at work :) Hopefully in a year or so I can drop down to part time work so I can take more classes at once!

I am planning on taking A&P 2 and pharmacology,as long as all goes well this semester :uhoh21:
