  1. The hospital (NYC) I used to work for almost two yrs ago started me at 15.97. My ending pay rate was close to 17.00. Hope this helps. I think this is the typical pay for cna in nyc. I am not sure of the nursing homes though as far starting pay , I would assume it would be around 15?
  2. In my opinion , I would accept the offer from pace and go forth with the process as if you were going to attend in the fall. However, if and when you recieve acceptance from nyu and thats where you want to go; couldnt you then let pace know that there is a change in your situation and you decided not to attend. The only questionable thing would be the deposit you have to pay to pace, would you loose it if you decide not to attend? Good luck and congratulation on your acceptance
  3. Hi I am looking to apply to three of these schools. For myself I would rank them in this order. Beth Israel Dorothy Hopfer Cochran For BI , all I have heard are great praises for this school. I did some research and this school would be the perfect fit for me. Other factors are location, schedualing and degree options, ie Two year tradition, atop, three year or evening. What I get from BI is that they really look at each applicant as a whole every thing you hand in and also the test score counts and is looked at. Dorothy , and cochran are also another excellent options for me. I also chose them for the location and schedualing options. Dorothy accepts students in the fall and spring , so does cochran. Hope I covered all you asked. Nicole
  4. Hey tay chick for the nln book the author is mary McDonald . The book is nln review guide for rn-pre entrance exam 2nd edition. I got mines at barnes and nobles for 24.99 .
  5. would you happen to know if the the high school listed for the lpn program offered in nyc , would they accept non-high school students as well. My high schoo, use to offer the lpn program but they phased it out a couple of years before I started high school and they put the cna major in its place.
  6. I am taking the same classes as you are except for nutrition. I was alittle hesitant to take these two classes together, but its not like it cant be done just have to work hard. nicole

  12. Ok good. I didnt know that there is an entrance exam. Is this something new ?
  13. Hi You should apply then being that you have all your classes completed.
  14. I was told I needed A&P I,II , Chemistry, English I,II, Psycology, Dev psych, Nutriton, College Algebra, Intro to computers. I left out microbio even though you do need the class but you dont need it to get in, You can take it there if you want. Also statistics is required but you can take it there also. Four electives in the area of Art History English Foreign Language (has to be I,II) ex spn 1, 2 classics I think thats about it and you do need a overall gpa of 3.0. All this information was given to me by a counselor at the school. hth
