Is anyone else going absolutely crazy???

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

I really do think that I am going insane over the fact that I don't know if I will be accepted! I'm sure it is completely natural to worry in the back of your mind and hope for the best, but I am obsessing over it! Haha. I am constantly checking this message board and searching for any possible information that will clue me in to see if I have any remote chance of getting in (which I know doesn't help), and reading every single post even related to my school. :barf02:

Haha just wondering if I am completely nuts! Anyone else have this problem? Or does anyone know how to get me to quit thinking about it???! 40 more days!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :trout:

Catzy--

You don't find out until January?????!! Or you would start in January? Because if you had to wait until then, I have no room to complain!

Well I was thinking about this and actually I have been waiting since May, I finished my last set of pre reqs last spring but you can't apply to the nursing program until you sit out a semester, they want your grades on your transcript before you apply so I will have waited 6-7 months for notification.

Oh my goodness, I feel for you all. I'll be in your shoes in 3 short months.

I'm sure I'll wig out from the suspense and drive everyone around me nuts. I'll probably have to start running 4 miles every day just to control my nerves in between stalking my mailbox.

Good luck to you all!

I find out this next week! I have everything I need to be accepted, yet I am still worried sick that I will get a denial letter! To make matters worse, I can't even keep busy because I had knee surgery and I am on crutches! So I am not working, or taking classes....just sitting around...thinking about the mail. This nursing letter has become more important to me and more stressful to me than my coming wedding (Which will be smack in the middle of my first semester if I do get in! Talk about fun right!)

Why do they do this to us?!!!!?? 7 month is awful! I keep throwing around the idea of calling the nursing office and asking them if they can go ahead and give me some inside info. haha.

Hah! So you just hobble to the mailbox every day? I hope you get in!

I did have elements of this condition while I was waiting for acceptance. You do have control over your thoughts, though. You can't help what thoughts come into your head but it's your decision whether you then entertain them.

Let it go. You're not doing yourself any favors by obsessing over it.

I've already completed CPR. I have had that done since last year and it lasts 2 years, so I'll have to do it again next year...maybe I'll take it over the summer or just before my 2nd semester would start. I'll have a bunch of things to complete too if I get accepted. I'm pretty nervous about getting it all done because I work full-time and have a baby at home, so my time is limited usually, but I don't have a choice!!!

Yeah I did CPR back in February so I have to re-take it again too...But I would consider that a good thing so it is completely drilled into my head. :)

Do your schools have a list of what you need to do before you start? I've looked all over my school's website and can't find one. I'm sure I'll have plenty to do, too.

I'm oddly calm right now. I decided I'm not going to obsess because it do anything - except make the time pass more slowly! :lol2: I've been spending extra time studying micro and trying to stay ahead of the game with all of my classes. ;)

Hope everyone manages to find a way to pass the time without going crazy! :D

A couple of weeks after we got our acceptance notices (in July), we received an e-mail with a list of things to do.

A couple of weeks after that we received a notice of when orientation starts. Then a notice that it was changing. Just yesterday, we got our new orientation date.

Well-done to set the obsession aside and focus on the present!

Thanks! :D You're a former NICU dad? Care to share details? :) My sons are what gave me the extra push to go back to school. I only hope I can give back a fraction of what we have been given over the last 4 years.

No letter today. So what am I going to do? Study micro! :lol2: (And take my son to the playground!)

Hope everyone is hanging in there! ;)
