call your college, and talk to the appropriate division office. tell them what class you are taking, and ask them the name of the book, author, edition, etc.

i feel your pain!!

why is that schools have to make it next to impossible for you to save a few bucks? i was just looking up the cost of books for my two classes this spring. the school bookstore (which is the only way to look up required text) no longer gives you the isbn or even the edition number on books which makes it very hard to order books from another (cheaper!) site!!! i am so frustrated at this! if i can managed to get all used books it is going to be about $318 for just two classes (a&p w/lab and med term)
talk about not being on my good side... sorry for the vent!

I know what you are talking about with the whole books argument. I spent 823 this semester on books for Nursing I. They actually cost me more than my tuition! I think that charging people this much for books is outrageous. I had a scholarship through the school so I had no choice where to buy, but I think it is ridiculous no matter who is footing the bill.

I'm starting nursing school in the fall, and I was surrpised when I received a list of books we will need (complete with the ISBN!) in the mail a few weeks ago. I've already been able to get three of the nine on eBay at a great discount. A fourth book was given to me by a neighbor who dropped out of a nursing program.

I would and have made a trip to the bookstore, found the books, (its a self service bookstore, but the wont give you ISBN's if you ask) wrote down the ISBN numbers and left.

Another school I attended for one class would pull your books for you. I wrote the ISBN down, convienetly "forgot" my checkbook and left.

It dosent help that at my college books will not be available for purchase until 2 weeks before class. This means they wont even stock them until then,

Good news is that I just founs out I was awarded a $2500 a year renweable grant through a local hospital and it alone will pay for books!

I have emailed the professor for the upcoming classes requesting the book list which has worked pretty well.

The whole textbook industry is a rip off in my opinion.... revisions are frequently made just to pad the publishers pockets.

I had to wait until 2 weeks before my classes started to get my book list!!! Then I showed up to the bookstore asked what I needed, they pulled the books out for me, I wrote the names and info down, said thank you, put them back and left. I ordered from a different source. Text books are insanely expensive.

Maybe I'm going into the wrong field!!!! I should write tesxtbooks for a living.:rotfl:
