HAS ANYONE EVER DONE BIO AND MICROBIO IN A 8WK SUMMER SERSSION? HOW WAS IT? DOES MICOBIO AND BIO GO Hand IN HAND TO MAKE IT A LITTLE EASIER?

I have not done it but I'm about to take Micro during a 3 week summer session:crying2: . When you say Bio are you taking about Anatomy or Physiology?

It can be done quite easily, just don't plan on too many outside activities. You will have much information to digest and absorb.

No, I'm speaking on Bio I science, i failed it years ago but with a D, so that's how I was able to get into my current A&P class because a D is still passing and when I registered Bio I was filled up so I just took my A&P I. However a D in Bio will not transfer to my nursing program of course so I am retaking in summer along with microbio.

Honestly, I can't imagine taking BOTH micro/A&P over the summer. I will be taking A&P II this summer (8 weeks) and I'm worried about that. I'm guessing many days will be spent at the park to let my kids play while I study!! I've heard from others in my current A&P I class that Micro is the 'easier' summer course to take. Really, I'm sure it depends on a lot of factors though, esp the instructor!!

Best of luck to ya! You can do it!!!!!

I'll be taking micro in the summer as well. At least we'll be suffering in good company :rotfl:

DUHHHH!!! Sorry about that! For some reason I saw A&P rather than BIO/MICRO....have I totally lost it!?!?!? (Probably...shhh!) Anyways, sorry 'bout the post

Count me in! I will be taking Micro in an 8 wk session - distance ed. Only thing we have to go on campus for is labs once a week. My friend from AP2 told me she did it in a 10 wk summer session and it was the only thing she took and it wasn't easy. I agree that it has a lot to do with the instructor! I am afraid the one we have is as much of a hardnose as our AP2 instructor.

8 weeks - that's not that long, right??? :)

Wow. Micro in 3 weeks? I wish you the best with that. There's no way I could ever do that myself. I wonder how they will pack in all of that work in 3 weeks?

You can do Bio and Micro together. They don't relate TOO much but they are relatable. If you have trouble look to your BIO book, there will be a chapter or two that will talk about stuff in Micro. and the Bio book will be a lot easier to understand than the Micro book. If you don't understand BIO think about getting a BIO color drawing book or Biology for Dummies. BUT you can do it, how are you doing in your AP class? If your doing good you'll have no problem. AP and Micro are the hardest prereqs. you'll take, but Chem is hard also if your not great in math.

Atleast your not taking Physics like me, thats THE HARDEST science (sometimes you would think MATH!) ever!!!

I took Microbiology one summer session (8 weeks long) then A&PII the next summer (8 weeks). I only took one each summer and I really liked it. Let me tell you why. While you have to learn as much as the longer fall or spring semesters, you aren't getting all the extra "fluff". You have to be in the mind set that you aren't going to be doing much of anything else. I sent my youngest to camp the week of finals so I could study more. It is intense but do-able. One of the girls in my A&P II class was taking both that and Micro together. Don't know for sure if she passed (I didn't see her in the nursing program in the fall) but she had no job, no kids, and lived with mom and dad. That would be helpful.
