A&P I Spring 2007 Semster - Welcome!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I will be taking A&P I next semester when I come back from Christmas break for the Spring 2007 semester. I didn't know if someone was going to start a group or not, so I thought I would create a thread to find those of us who have been "getting our feet wet" and are going to start into the fun stuff during the Spring 2007 semester. I look forward to seeing who all will be feeling my pain!

This week I took the endocrine test. Hardest one yet. :( Definetely not my strong area.

I'm taking the nervous system test Monday. :uhoh21: Still have a lot of studying to do!

So I have a question. Since I figured out that I wanted to be a nurses two semesters ago, as you can guess I had to play ALOT of catch. This summer I have to take A&P 1 and 2, plus Micro and Stats, so I was curious as to some inside knowledge on what to really focus on in these A&P classes because it seems like alot. And since these are interim classes that work might be more consistant and tense, lol.

Is there any way you can split up those classes? IMO even one class of A&P over the summer will be tough. My teacher told us that if we are going to take A&P 2 over the summer that we should expect to spend 40 hrs per week just for that class. Possibly you could add a smaller class on top of that, but not 3 other major ones. I would reconsider your decision of taking all those classes. I wish you the best.

Well the summer session is divided 2 parts. The first part I am taking Intro to Stats and A&P 1. The second part I am taking A&P 2 and Micro.....so not all at once, I couldn't handle that lol

My school has A&P I and II this summer, both 4 weeks long. I heard though they won't let you sign up for both back to back (summer session is divided) in case you don't pass the first one. I think I'd like to focus on A&P I the first half of the summer and then a different pre-req for the second half.

My question is, is passing a 4 week A&P I class doable or is it biting off more than one can handle? I don't work, my son is grown, and my husband is supportive. Other than that, I just don't want to take on too much but I also want to get the pre-reqs out of the way.

Any suggestions? Also, it might be 6 weeks long, I'd have to go back and look. But still, even 6 weeks is pretty quick.

I don't know how you could possibly due AP in 4 weeks that is just nuts. I have a 16 week course and we go to school 10 hours a week as it is, they must cut out quite a lot of things at that pace.

So how is everyone doing with their A&P I class this semester? What do you think is your grade for this class. I am hoping to get a B in this class. I already signed up for A&PII for Fall.

Hey, I am doing really good in my A&P I class. I have an A right now, so as long as I don't bomb the last test next week and the final I will be good to go. We can't sign up for fall classes yet. We don't do that until the summer!

Our semester is winding down. Finals are in two weeks. I've got an A and lecture and an A in lab so far. Hope I can hang on. This was hands down the hardest class I've taken. I'm amazed at how much material we've covered. Kuddos to everyone for making it through!!!

I'm taking A & P II the second half of the summer (6 week crash course).

Anyone else taking it in the summer?

I am cruising along with a nice 103% but I agree that this is the hardest class I have taken, although I know the same will be true of the next two classes I take.

I thought about taking the 6 week physio too but Im young so I am over it. The Virgina Tech was what changed my mind, because if I died prematurely and unexpectedly I sure as hell would not be spending my last days stressed out of my mind in physio when I didnt necessarily need to be.

Good luck to everyone.

I have a gnarly lecture test on Monday. Still not ready for it. Its crunch time so I havent been able to get to much studying.

Taking a summer course in A&P I is very stressful. I am waiting this fall to take this course by itself. Need to recieve a high grade.
