A&P I Spring 2007 Semster - Welcome!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I will be taking A&P I next semester when I come back from Christmas break for the Spring 2007 semester. I didn't know if someone was going to start a group or not, so I thought I would create a thread to find those of us who have been "getting our feet wet" and are going to start into the fun stuff during the Spring 2007 semester. I look forward to seeing who all will be feeling my pain!

You have a right to be nervous. From what I here this course it no joke. I purchased a review book to give me a head start. Good Luck!

I definitely take my hat off to you. Im not taking any chances when it comes to A&P and Micro so Im taking those courses strictly by itself. I don't want to risk not getting into the program. I work 45 hours a week.(Mandatory) I wish I could quit my job but it pays for school. I am not lucky like others to recieve financial aid.

Specializes in critical care, PACU.

Yeah I think that the only way that class would work is if you took a leave of absence from work. Im a receptionist and was considering disappearing for the 6 weeks hehe and putting my whole life on hold.

Once I decided not to now its like a huge weight is off my chest teehee.

I have always thought you can do anything you put your mind to, even if its getting an A in a 6week a n p course.

Good luck everyone.

By the way

I am having a study group tonight at my place but I live in an apartment complex which kinda complicates things with parking etc

Anyone have any alternate ideas of where I can have everyone meet up?

Hi! I am also taking AP this spring. I am excited and nervous all in one. Nervous because i have took this class before and failed because i didn't study nearly enough. Excited because it's been 7 years since high school grad. and i have waited to longer to get my degree. Wish me luck and keep me in your prayers.

So how is everyone doing with their A&P I class this semester? What do you think is your grade for this class. I am hoping to get a B in this class. I already signed up for A&PII for Fall.

So far, I think I'm doing well (92 average for both lecture and lab so far) and I've also signed up for A&PII in the Fall. I did okay in the beginning with the basics, really well with the bones, but had a tougher time with the CNS/PNS. We started the eyes in lab today, which was fun. I can't wait until the semester is over!

Good luck to everyone who's made it so far!

Specializes in None.

I am taking A&P 1 over the summer, I just wanted to know any tips and advice for this class.

I am almost done with A&P (1 more week) it is not difficult information there is just ALOT of information

Tips for success in A&P:

STUDY, STUDY, STUDY (Do a little each day even if its only for 20 min. you want to keep in the groove)

Stay on top of things (its easy to get off track)

Flashcards are a must

DO NOT I repeat DO NOT MISS A CLASS for it will set you behind

Ask questions (there is no such thing as a dumb question)

Join a study group (It really helps if you talk about A&P. LOL)

Specializes in PCU Regional Heart Unit.

My final grade was just posted this morning...A. Yahoooo!!!!

This course was hands down the hardest class I've taken so far. Glad it's over with, I'm starting A&P II in 8 weeks.

Specializes in Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Flight.

:( i start anatomy 1 next sat @ 8am...only cuz the 1230 class was cancelled.

im not too worried about this class im a big science geek.i just hope im geeky enough to pass with an A :)

I was just wondering how everyone think they did this semester in this class. I will be taking it this fall '07.

So far I am getting a 94%. We still have 3 more tests including the final before the 15th. Definitely the most challenging class so far. I'm taking Advanced this summer.

I just took my Lab Final and my Lecture Final for AP1. I AM DONE. I studied so much for this course. I would say of all the courses i took, and there were some tough courses, (experimental Pys, Quan Methods) i woudl say i put the most time into this class. It paid off though for me. I finished the class with around a 97%. Im just so happy i got an "A". I was told that the nursing schools really look at your Bio grades (AP 1&2, Micro, Org Bio Chem etc) so it was really important for me to get this "A"

I am taking Organic Bio Chemistry in the summer (also called College Chemistry in some schools), has anybody heard if it is more difficult than AP?
