Practice Teas Test

Published

Hello, I was wondering if anyone that didn't do so great on the online practice test (teas) did a lot better on the real thing?

Hi 5 Star Nurse,

Your scores seem to be very good? What school are you applying to that thinks they are low? I am taking the TEAS test next thursday and i am sooo nervous and tips?

...My advice to those of you that will be taking the teas test in the near future is the following:buy the teas study guide along with the two online assessment test. The package is a bit expensive ,but worth it! Every section of the exam is basic, so no need to stress out.

I think this is worth quoting again because you guys seem to be stressing out waay too much. IMO it's fairly easy to do well on this exam. Buy the guide/tests combo as Nala says and study the book as often as possible. Then take the tests and see how well you do. If you don't score as highly as you would like, go back and study the book some more! Everything that was on the exam is (in some way, shape, or form) in that book. I can say this because I studied that book quite a bit and it paid off with a very high score. If you know the book, you can do well on the exam. It's that simple.

This is the rest of the quote and it's also helpful..

The math is basic algebra fractions, decimals, percentages, ratio/proportion,percentages. Review basic earth science, basic chemistry like atomic numbers, what makes up the atomic mass p+n, atomic # = number of protons, not very much anatomy and physio, a few questions using the punnet square for genetics. If English is your second language then I would suggest to review grammar and punctuation. The only complaint I have about the math portion is that it required a lot of time, so don't spend too much time on one problem. over all I think it was very basic and I think I stressed a little too much prior to taking the exam.

btw, for those of you asking for specific questions on the test, I'm going to go ahead and say that that's borderline cheating. Not that I care what other people do with their lives, but seriously, if you need to know what the questions are on the test, then you haven't studied enough and knowing a few questions ahead of time isn't going to help you anyway. Study the book, everything you need to know is in there. That's all I'm going to say about that.. If anyone has any questions on stuff in the book or doesn't understand something, post your questions here! I'm sure there are lots of people on here like myself who don't mind helping others. Good Luck!! :)

I take my test Feb. 19th. Any help would be GREAT! Please PM Me.

Thanks!

Thanks for saying what I was thinking. Asking for specific questions is considered cheating.

If you as a student understand the basic concepts and relationships covered within the topic areas you should do just fine. (As Fr. Pete put it so eloquently "Study is more effective than worry.")

oh, is that in MN? I am in CA. I probably won't help you that much since for sure it's going to be different tests. Those who took it in even different cities through CA, but in CA state universities had the same tests. But for sure you should buy a book. you won't get the same questions from the sample tests, but format will be the same. How many times can you take it. In my school it used to be unlimited, but starting now we only can take it 3 times in the 5 years. I did much better on my second time, plus after my first time I did a research on all quesitons I could remember and it saved me. There were only 5 A&P questions, 3 chemistry, about 3 on physics, 3 earth biology and so on. I can be more specific, but not sure if it will help. Any way good luck. If you can do it twice, then it make a big difference.

Hi Sacs

Hello everyone. I am terribly lost right now. It's too bad that the best source to look for help is the internet. I don't know anyone or have friends who know anyone that are nursing students or nurse grads. I live in MA and a school offers a PN program. I would have to take the school's test in order to determine if I can take the TEAS. I was a pretty good student in English and Math during High School. I skimmed through this thread, which was very helpful. Is anyone able to pm me or send me some advice in the Science department? I have taken Biology and Chemistry so I remember things like photosynthesis and neutrons and what not. >_

physic is basic. I would go over newtons laws and knows some of the formulas v=d/t f=ma and so on..... most of the science stuff is random stuff like rocks and plants stuff lol.

So far I've used the ATI study guide and online study questions which so far helped me alot.

hey, I'm new here and I'm taking the teas test in March, can someone helps me? PLEASE send me a PM, i don't have enough post to email. thanks.:crying2::crying2::crying2:

Hi, Sacstate. I have read your messages and found that you are very knowledgable about TEAS at sacstate. I need to retake it as I was not prepared to it the time I took it. I remember some of the science questions, but not completely, just the idea. I would greatly appreciate your help with TEAS. Please help.

I'm taking it in four days then applying for an accelerated program. They keep scaring everyone with the idea that you have to score 85% and above when I see scores of schools looking for 70%. I've studied enough where if I slow down I should be able to get in the 80-85 percentile.

I think its funny they have a 1:1.5 acceptance rate at this school i'm applying to and making it sound like I'm going up against IV league students. I find it even more funny that other schools carry a 1:4 ratio and don't face the fear of having their doors closed next month due to budget cuts
