1. How many questions did you take on NCLEX? 83 (RN) and passed (first try!) Yipee!

2. What study materials did you use? Did you take a test review course? I graduated 9 years ago and havent practiced nursing since graduation. I took my NCLEX-RN recently and did the online Hurst review, read the Kaplan 2007-2008 book +CD , practiced on the kaplan cd trainer, and Saunders 2006 CD. I started studying 2 mos before the exam while working, but studied full time 2 weeks before the actual exam.

3. Did your SON offer any testing (ERI, ATI, HESI)? Nope. I am foreign- schooled, and graduated in 98.

4. How long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting? 9 long days!! in california

5. What were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)? I thought I had a big chance of passing cos even though I know I had a lot of mistakes, I knew majority of the other questions weren't as hard as I thought. But then as the days passed by with no results - I started to feel like - maybe my questions were not high level questions thats why. So 4 days later (with no results), I felt like I certainly failed.. But on day 9, saw my name on the BRN website! It was such a happy feeling! :)

6. Was this your first attempt at NCLEX? Yep.

i know this is an old thread, but i'll answer anyway...

1. how many questions did you take on nclex? 75

2. what study materials did you use? did you take a test review course? i used lippincott nclex review book and the nclex review book endorsed by the nsna. i had no formal test review.

3. did your son offer any testing (eri, ati, hesi)? we took nln exams after each major nursing course (med/surg, psych, ob, and peds), and the mosby test and hesi during our last semester.

4. how long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting? it took two days for my license to show up on california's brn website.

5. what were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)? i remember hitting question 68, 69, 70, and thinking "i hope it shuts off at 75." and sure enough, it did. i walked out of the testing center not sure what to think....i didn't feel like i passed, but i wasn't completely sure i failed either. i felt like throwing up. the ride home (and pretty much the rest of the day), i felt numb. i didn't think i could fail that miserably on 75 questions, but some of the questions were almost too easy and made me think that i hadn't answered enough questions that were hard enough to pass.

6. was this your first attempt at nclex? yes.
