NCLEX-PN exam shut down at quest 85?
I know how you're feeling. I took the PN exam in February and my computer shut off after 85 questions as well. I sat there in shock and wanted to hit the computer to see if I could shake a couple more questions out of it. I went home convinced that I had done terrible but, much to my relief, I found out two days later that I had passed. =) Good luck!!

LPN Wages
The LPN pay scale here in NE Pennsylvania is all over the board. The hourly rate at the hospitals ranges from approximately $13.00 to $15.00 depending upon which one you work at. The nursing homes start at $15.00 and go to $18.00. I'm currently working at the VA making $21.18/hour.

LPN's please help
The course work is definitely challenging in the sense that there is a lot of material covered in a short period of time. As for the material covered, that can be challenging as well. I went to nursing school after completing three years of college as a biochemistry major. A&P, Chemistry, MedSurg -- those were my "easy" classes as I had a strong background in them. As long as you stay focused and commited, you'll do just fine!

pn-nclex, frustrated
Maybe try breaking them down into their classes? Medications ending with "ine" tend to be antihistamines, a lot of meds ending with "pril" are antihypertensives, "in" or "cillin" for anti-infectives, "sone" for corticosteroids, etc.. I signed up for the three week course ($49) at LearningEXT prior to taking my NCLEX-PN and found it to be extremely useful. There is a ton of information, practice examinations and so on. Good luck!

When to take NCLEX?
The sooner, the better!

Poll for those who have already taken NCLEX..
1. How many questions did you take on NCLEX? I had 85 [NCLEX-PN examination]. 2. What study materials did you use? Did you take a test review course? Upon graduation my nursing school offered a week of free NCLEX review classes and as my exam date grew close, I signed up for NCSBN Learning Extention program. 3. Did your SON offer any testing (ERI, ATI, HESI)? ATI 4. How long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting? 48 hours. 5. What were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)? Shock. As I was taking the test it felt as if all my knowledge regarding nursing just flew out the window. I walked away convinced that I failed and spent the next two days on edge. The waiting period is the absolute worst. Thankfully, I passed! 6. Was this your first attempt at NCLEX? Yep.

I PASSED my nclex-pn!
Congrats! I took the NLCEX-PN last Wednesday and my computer shut off at 85 questions as well. My sigh of relief on Friday when I saw that I passed was extraordinary, haha!

NCLEX-PN today..
I came face-to-face with the NCLEX-PN this morning. Lots of pharm, lots of prioritization. When my computer shut off after 85 questions I found myself wanting to smack it to see if I could shake a couple of more questions out of it. The more, the merrier in my mind! I thought my jitters and nauseousness were bad before I took the exam. Those have multiplied by ten since I left the testing center, haha. Now the 48 hour waiting game begins. BTW -- I'm new here. =) Good luck to everyone who has taken it and is waiting on their results / those who will be taking it in the future!
