Polk State Spring 2020

Hey everyone, I'm starting this thread for Polk State College Spring 2020 hopefuls. Right now, my total score is 111.15. I'm retaking my TEAS Wednesday (right now my TEAS score is 76) and I'm retaking Algebra summer II for a higher grade. We shall see how it goes...

I sent in mines last tuesday night and they had it posted on my passport last thursday so it took two days for me.

Thanks guys, they just added my scores to the system, I had to get in contact with ATI, and then I talked to Polk. Now it's time to apply.

How do you calculate the points for the admissions criteria?

Points are 5 times your overall GPA, 5 times your program pre-rec GPA, 2 points for prior degrees (2 for associates, 2 for bachelors, etc...), and your TEAS score.

mine doesn’t say that.. ?

Mine says both and my total score is 108.5. I don’t think it’s score related. And one of my friends has a much higher score than me and hers doesn’t say anything.

Mhm, mine only says passing teas score.. and my total points are 108.25

I realllllly hope this “hurricane” doesn’t postpone acceptance letters ? this has been the longest month ever already waiting for the app to close lol

It probably will delay letters going out to be honest. Polk is close thru wednesday according to their website. And if there's damage or issues, it could extend until the following week. I wonder if they are going to change the orientation date since letters might be delayed a week or more going out. I'm assuming they haven't made their final decisions yet because the application window just closed this past Friday, and they will only have Thursday and Friday of this upcoming week to really make decisions or use the week after that if they decide to close the whole week. But if they use a generic system where they just calculate the points and chose the top applicants, it could be sent out quickly with out any real decision making since they just chose the top applicants with the highest points. I knooooow I just want to know NOW. I think they would bump the orientation a bit. A friend of mine applied this time last year and if memory serves, they did it last year for the same reason. I think they even had to extend the application cut off since a lot of people in the area didn’t have power. Obviously not applicable in this case since the window has passed, but they might change the orientation date. Wouldn’t surprise me.
