Polk State College Fall 2019 Hopefuls (PSC)

Awe I’m sure you’ll get in. good luck everyone!!
  2. Alright thank you guys so much! I start next Monday . Wish me luck I pass and can get into Polk.
  3. Sorry I saw others use initials, so I thought that was okay. My bad
  4. What teacher did you have? (MODERATOR EDIT OF INITIAL) Is the beginning letter of her last name.
  5. Good morning all, I have a few questions. First, has anyone taken micro online at HCC? I’m taking it next week. It’s 6 weeks both lecture and lab.. I’m currently at Polk State in Lakeland and will be applying there for fall, but I know it’s competitive so if I don’t get in, I will apply for HCC Spring of next year. Along with micro this Summer, I’m also taking intro to sociology since HCC requires it.. I’m only taking it as a back up if I don’t get into Polk State. I took the TEAS three times, and my last attempt was a 74 (thank god! Lol) my gpa is a 3.34.. Good luck to all that are applying for Fall!
  6. Well let me start off by introducing myself. My name is Austyn and I am 26. I have been in the medical field for about 4 years now. It all started when I got my EMT-B licence back in 2015? Needless to say, I still have my EMT, but I have decided to transition into Nursing. I have all my prerequisites completed, except for Micro (which I am taking this Summer at HCC online). Lets talk about the TEAS, who else dreads it? Or is it just me? I have taken it a total of three times. My first score was 56.7. My second score was 64 and as of today (I took it this morning) a 74. I know Polk's min. score is a 70, but most of the students who get accepted make high 70's up into the 80's. I have been looking for a thread for Polk State College Nursing Fall 2019. I have had no luck, so I guess I will create one in hopes that someone comes across this and we can all share our stories and talk about Nursing school. After searching for a thread, I came across some other ones for the previous years and I saw they were comparing there scores for the point system Polk uses... I guess my score is a 107.5, not very high compared to theirs. They were talking about theirs being around 115-120. I know Polk is competitive, but I am worried I wont get accepted. Anyone else in my boat? Thank you all for reading (If anyone even reads this...)

Pollk State College (PSC) Fall 2019 Applicants

Yes, I figured it out.. so they take your TEAS score + 5 times your overall GPA + 5 times your program GPA. Their is bonus points if you have a preview degree etc. but that’s basically it. To find those two different GPA’s go to Polk passport. After you login go to the degree audit and switch to “nursing generic track” and scroll all the way to the bottom and you should seethe two different GPA’s. Hope this helps, if you need more help let me know! When do you take your TEAS? You just have to commit to your date and keep studying, trust me if I could do it so can you
