PLEASE help! What are my options???

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

-2.5 Gpa with BA in psychology from undergrad.

-Currently doing my prerequisites for nursing school with a 3.70 in first semester courses.

-JUST found out on this forum that I can go from BA to MSN WITHOUT having to go RN-BSN-MSN route.

But given my grades, what schools would take me? Most say their cut off is 3.0 from any major.

1. Should I go Associates then ASD-MSN?

2. Accelerated BSN? (is it less competitive?)

3. Or are there schools that will take me directly into the MSN?

Thank you ladies in advance!

Sounds like you already made up your mind and you want to start a poop fight. Are you related to Ruger8MM ??

Keep in mind that if you have a previous degree, it's going to be difficult to find loans for all of your schooling.

Not so much difficult as expensive. Sallie Mae and Wells Fargo would looooove to help you out. For 12% APR.

Whoops, I'm part of the 10% that's not supposed to be in this thread. ;)

No.

I will continue as I have been, and if that bothers you, you can find other threads/topics to respond to.

As you can find other, more appropriate forums for your question. It cuts both ways.

Hmmm. Perhaps we are not the forum for you. Perhaps (who am I kidding, of course we are not) you should find another more compatible forum.

You can only hear the same message from x number of responders before acknowledging the truth.

This is an appropriate forum for my question.

Thank you.

Thanks, I appreciate women like you :)

At my current bank they have "student loans" I asked about them and turns out they are private loans, I think the interest was at 2.6 or something along those lines, they want credit etc. etc.

Which brings a good question, how much loans does someone who is independent qualify for as an undergrad?

I have about 25k from my first degree.

Very little unless you have stellar credit and a co signer for private loans. There are no grants or subsidized loans for those who hold a. Bachelors degree.

I don't think this is true. I believe I got subsidized loans for the BSN, but I *know* I did for the ADN. 2nd and 3 rd degrees.

2.6%? Huh? Without loan fees? Variable or fixed? My graduate loan are roughly 6% + loan fee. Private loans are usually worse.

You have a bachelors, the loan gods won't be kind trust me and 25k is still a hefty amount.

I am a man btw lol

I will try to get into a ABSN or MSN first offcourse, just wasn't sure of my chances or if anyone had any other information I should consider.

In a previous thread someone suggested RN to MSN for a poster, they said that schools will only look at your grade work from the associates, thus giving time to reclaim yourself.
