How do you all feel about applicants who post their "headshot" on their resume?

I don't really think it's necessary.
I recently filled out an application. In the "Tell us more about you" part it specifically said "don't give any information that indicates you gender or race." Based on that, I'm pretty sure this particular hospital would not want a picture on your resume.

I agree, I don't think it is necessary to post your picture on your resume. Let your qualifications do the talking. They will see who you are at the interview.
I appreciate your responses. But as a new grad we all pretty much have the same skills and certificates, maybe a photo will help your résumé stand out?

I have seen many job ads request a picture of the applicant. I would never answer one of those ads because I see no reason to reply to a beauty contest. I would feel the same way if I were worth looking at twice.

I see that you are a male, that may be an asset to the company or unit you are applying to. However, they will know that you are a guy from your name (maybe). I feel like putting a picture on your resume is almost saying "hey look at me, I LOOK like the guy you should hire." You should want to be choosen for how your resume looks and your skills, not your face. And I see that you said you have the same skills as the other new grads, give them an objective that makes them WANT to call you! Instead of saying "seeking opportunity to work on assessment skills" try "bright, chipper, blah blah, nurse with experience in *customer service (maybe?), etc, etc"

Employers are looking for smartness not for pretty face.

I don't see how a photo on a resume would help you stand out. There are ways to write a cover letter, state skills on a resume . Most employers know that all new grads have the same skills, as you should since you just finished nursing school. To try and stand out think about any skill or situations you have learned something, think about all of your clinicals you have and what skills you can take from them. Also, get involved in school, SNA, lots of National organizations have a student rate.

I wouldn't be surprised if some organizations don't just toss resumes with pictures.
That avoids the risk of potential discrimination against hiring someone due to race, age, physical appearance, being "too ethnic," etc.
im looking for a quality employee, not a date.

No! It's a resume for a nursing job, not for acting or modeling where your "looks" are important.

I agree with dah doh! Absolutely no pictures on a resume, it serves no purpose in the nursing industry.
