Something is definitely quite fishy. You should be able to be in the US in one year. I think that they never filed your papers. Asked to see the receipts that they have for the mailing.
If they can't produce it, you are much better leaving them and getting things done, I can definitely pormise that you will be in the US much faster.
I refiled 14 th july and up to making the decision in Jan not to go was still waiting for approval. I think that was one of the reasons DH changed his mind was because of all the waiting :angryfire
yeh the waiting is hell, and my husband is also becoming very down about, but if we get arizona like we want i hope it will all be worth it

It will be once the dust has settled. I obviously have loads of advice to give you once you get here.
They (OGP)found my paperwork for the short term disability payment oh and guess what I hadnt ticked the right box. So I filled it all in and missed a tick so am not entitled to it. The paperwork was soley for short term disability so if I didnt want it I wouldnt have filled it in and returned it I would have just thrown it in the trash. Give me strength. They agreed today that I had been given a bad deal since day one-still that doesnt help me does it.
i just signed on with opg a while ago and now we are trying to get me placed because the visa is about to come through (supposedly), like what many of you have mentioned, i am concerned of being put somewhere i hate and work at a dangerous place....
i don't think i am hard to please, i just want somewhere i am happy and would be safe. any pointers in setting interviews with them and how to voice my demands?
i would just do as much research as you can about the places that they offer, there is always a chance that somone from that area posts on the forums either here or in the american bit.
it depends on what sort of lifestyle you want
for me living in a huge city like NY is my worst nightmare, i prefer rural settings as i am a country bumpkin here!
I dont think it is just OGP because Anna (Silverdragon) was waiting for a long time too after she refiled, and she wasnt going with an agency.
It depends on who is doing the filing, it is either done by the employer via the immigration attorney, or straight by the immigration attorney. Do you know for a fact that it was submitted right then, or was the attorney waiting for payment from the facility first?
Something is defnitely fishy if the wait has been this long. Sounds like the attorney did not file the full set of documents in a timely fashion, such as the Labor Certification document that is required, etc. That is why it is so important to have an immigration that really knows their stuff.

To the best of my knowledge it was filed by the immigration lawyer and reciept showed 14 July 2005. I have asked for a break down on what I have to pay now I have cancelled and have been told it is in the region of $10200 but not heard anything yet
