Possible new grad position in assisted living facility. Just wondering if it's a fair rate?:uhoh3:

Depends where in So Cal, but in my area, HECK yeah that's a fair rate. And if you don't want it, point me to it. ;)

:lol2:I want it alright..don't know if I have it yet:yeah:..just wondering if it's a fair rate..

Specializes in Acute Rehab, Med/surg Pediactrics.

$20Hr is the standard rate for new grad LVN assisted living in So Cal Good Luck :)

Specializes in Emergency, Trauma, Critical Care.

Sounds about right!

OH, I'm so amused.... when I became a GN back in 1985, I made $7/hour- got another 25 cents after I got my boards results 5 months later- LOL.... and that was a HUGE increase from the 3.35 I made as a CNA with an agency !! :w00t: :rotfl:

Specializes in LTC.

I started with 22.50 as a NG in ALF. so this seems about right.

That's good for an LVN in SoCal. Lately, the employers have been lowering their wages to midteens and telling people it is necessary because of cutbacks.

I started @ $22.00/hour as a new grad LPN in Chicago, Il.

Many nurses in So. Cal are having a hard time finding any nursing jobs. With a year or so experience you could then move on. I do not know the current going rate for LVN's in assisted living. I would consider it. Good Luck !

Thanks everyone for all the replies...! I'll keep you posted..:D

And what was the cost of a gallon of gas, rent, gallon of milk, and for a lb of ground meat compared to what we are paying today. Heck, I remember when someone advocated a meatless dinner once a week (about mid 70s)...now with the cost of meat, we have many meatless meals.
