Penn Foster Inform. Literacy

Penn Foster is no longer allowing ECE students to take 1 credit courses only...so even if Excelsior approved you to take PF English 103 (Info Literacy)...PF will no longer allow it. So I had the distinct pleasure of parting with $335 to take it through ECE. :crying2:

Awww, too bad! Good while it lasted. Thanks for the info! What will they allow? Do they want EC students to take more credits?

Just a suggestion; Penn Foster has many 1 credit courses all are $90.00 each. Everything from engine repair to info lit. Maybe ask if taking 2 credits will satisfy? Even $180.00 is cheaper than EC's course.

so I just went on the Penn Foster website...how did you find all the 1 credit courses? All I have found so far is their career programs and such..

Huh?! I JUST took my Penn Foster Info Lit exam and EC just applied it to my transcripts! The date it finally appeared on my transcript was yesterday (7/21/10)! Make sure you talk to the correct people at Penn Foster. I had to be transferred twice each time I called Penn Foster for information! Here is the DIRECT number to the woman who sent me all the info and was very helpful:

I paid $90 and spent about an two hours completing the course. They mail you a box full of course info, but I had finished the exam before I even received the box via snail mail.

Yep! High School Advisor is the EXACT title and info she sent to me on an email she responded to. I know it sounds strange but IT WORKED! All I did was copy and paste that info from the bottom of her response.

Thanks for the update. I was planning on using Penn Foster for that course, since I was told it was a good course, and far less than EC. Oh well... :rolleyes:
