pearsonvue trick question

Nursing Students NCLEX

Hello! Does anyone have any insight on if you dont have quite enough funds available to attempt the pearsonvue trick if it will still take you to the "our records indicate...." page ? Or does it preauthorize the 200?? We get paid tomorrow so its no big deal to wait if we have to but my husband is taking it as we speak and its his third try so hes anxious to pass....

Ok. While your results are "on hold" you cannot find out anything one way or the other. There's no point in looking for anything, NONE will be available until that hold is lifted. As was mentioned, that can take a few days; once your exam is ready to be scored (all reasons for hold have been eliminated), it will STILL be scored twice, and after all that is done, then results will become available either for Quick Result purchase via Pearson Vue, or from your BoN itself. They will mail results, can take days or weeks or months. That's why people like the QR option, when they can have it. Otherwise, you can keep checking the BoN website to see if your name is posted with a license number.

Hang in there. This won't last forever, it just SEEMS that way!

Please- the company software used to block the ability for people who weren't going to need to retest the ability to pay. Their 'bug' fix was to remove that safeguard and hide behind their 'no-refund' policy? It is absolutely ridiculous, imo, for a company like this to have a no refund policy for services that will never be rendered. Of course for fails, no shows, cheating, etc. the policy is acceptable, but charging for a service that will never be needed- not acceptable.

If they simply wanted to stop people from using the 'trick'- why not block the ability to re-register for the 48 hours it takes for 'quick' results- or the time it takes to mail results?

I'm not saying people should have the 'right' to use the trick... I'm saying no company should be able to keep $200 they have no intentions of providing a service for!

I agree! I will keep you posted if i pass or fail with this kind of PVT experience. Thanks everyone!

It's considered a duplicate registration which is expressly prohibited and those that pay are forfeiting their $200 voluntarily. Same as if you registered as Bob Q Smith with NY BoN and then PA BoN because you didn't know who would give the ATT first. You can only take the NCLEX for one BoN and just donated $200 to Pearson Vue. This is made very clear on the NCSBN website and in the candidate bulletin. Pearson Vue holds no responsibility if you agree to a charge with no refund option without reading the fine print/agreement terms. Happens all the time in contracts. Ignorance of the terms or law is not a valid excuse in a court of law.

Technically Pearson would provide you the opportunity to retake the NCLEX so they are intending to provide the service, however if you pass you are not eligible to retake. How is that Pearson's liability?

Not all States participate in Quick Results. It's not the norm, but sometimes people have posted that they were ok with registering again right away, as they were THAT sure they had failed (and would, therefore, use the registration again anyway).

Me, I'd wait for either Quick Results or BoN results. But to blame the company that provides you with this service FOR providing the service.....and customers are not interested in taking responsibility for what that actually means....? That is what seems out of line to me.

They ARE in the business of charging all of eight dollars for Quick Results. And the rules are so clearly laid out, anyone who is preparing to take the NCLEX should have no difficulty understanding these VERY simple rules. You pay for Quick Results, you get Quick Results. You authorize payment for yet another test registration that you may or may not eventually need or want? That's really not Pearson Vue's problem.

I see it all the time, people who say "but I should be able to change my mind, it isn't fair" when applied to everything from buying a new car, to signing a lease for an apartment, to enrolling in college, to.....you guessed it.....using their credit card as some kind of Crystal Ball and then crying "foul" when they get charged for the very thing they authorized!

Just had a conversation with a friend, who was super ticked off at an electronics store that sold her a new TV. She got the thing home, realized it didn't FIT where she wanted it to go (nope, never whipped out a measuring tape) and when she called the company to say she was bringing it back, they informed her that there would be a restocking fee. I'm pretty sure she said $50. She was TOTALLY angry, because after all, she hadn't "used" the TV, and SHE would be bringing it back to THEM (she had it delivered in the first place). She didn't seem to 'get' that people who pay for things, take them home and therefore out of availability for OTHER people to purchase, then decide they don't want it costs the store time---which is money. And that's how they recoup for the "Buyer's Remorse" people. My friend doesn't think it's HER fault the tv didn't fit.....and doesn't think it's fair that the store is gonna CHARGE her for something she isn't going to keep. Sounds familiar....?

Responsibility is on the person with the charge card to USE it properly, NOT on the company that offers the service.

But hey: if people really want to chance it, I say they can send ME $200 and I'LL take a guess at whether they passed or failed! :)
