Here are the exact steps to see if you passed the NCLEX exam on the Pearson Vue web site.
Updated:
Very important: At this point, if you get a pop up that says 'the candidate currently has test results that are on hold. A new registration cannot be created at this time.', it has nothing to do with passing or failing; it just means that they are reviewing your records due to random reviews that they conduct, or because they needed to locate some data or papers, etc.
This means you will possibly have to wait a few more days than your friends who did not get this message. If you get the message 'Records indicates you have recently registered for this test please contact BON. An appointment cannot be scheduled at this time.', that means you passed. If you do not get either message and go straight to the credit card information page, that means you did not pass.
Your Pearsonvue account must state that delivery is successful before you try the trick.
Poll to take once you have received your response:

This actually works...its for real my dears-if Pearson will let you register for a new NCLEX test you have failed-I was SO SURE i failed got 75 questions and finished in 45 minutes most were SATA or were visuals-thought "this is it I bombed" felt soooo bad about it. They were asking me SATA questions about cross sensitivity reactions about two different drugs I HAD NEVER HEARD OF BEFORE!!!!I had even taken a special class for pharmacology for nurses taking the NCLEX!!! OMG had the ***** for 4 days-couldn't hold any thing in- AND I PASSED! When it gets to the point where you are doing more SATA questions you are on the "HIGHER" levels. No one feels good after that kind of test so don't beat yourself up- it's so flicking HARD ok?!! If you check your Pearson account and try to register for the NCLEX a 2nd time- if you passed it won't let you-YOU HAVE FOR SURE PASSED!! Relax -I know it its hard but try to deep breathe-My questions were SO hard I thought there was no way I could have gotten my license but it just turns out I knew my **** and maybe you do too. Check your account w Pearson if it will let you Register for another NCLEX all the way up to the Credit Card Page-you failed sorry. If it says that you are currently registered for an exam and to contact your state board for help you passed-THIS HAS WORKED FOR EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN MY CLASS THAT I KNOW OF! It's Not a myth-THIS IS A REAL THING -and maybe it will help you with your anxiety-check and DEEP BREATHE!!!!!

I just want to add for people not to throw a lot of weight toward SATA. I took my test yesterday, screen went blue after 75 questions and I only got 5 SATA. Did PVT as soon as I got to the elevator and got the pop up by the time I got to my car (and I've done it 30 times since then and keep getting the pop up). The few SATA that I did get (in addition to the fact like I felt like I knew absolutely nothing on that test) made me feel like I had bombed it because everyone says a lot of SATA is a "sure thing" of doing well. Well, I guess NCLEX assessed my competency in multiple choice questions that I'm assuming were just as "difficult" as SATAs...because I only got 5 of them out of my 75 questions!! That was one freaky test!!!
Got the Good Pop-Up in California on July 16th....It has been 3 long days (4 if you count the day I took the test). After today will be day FIVE. This is soo painful, I just wish I could believe in the PVT but I guess until one experiences the PVT directly it is hard to believe it's for real! Anyone have to wait this long in California for results? Looks like I get to sit through a weekend of still not knowing !
Jayboyrobot here in GA it takes forever to be notified, however, although nobody has told us that, our license is usually active the day after we pass the NCLEX. I know things in Cali take forever, but have you checked the status of your license online? I know my official notification won't be in mail until about weeks from now but my license is already active!
I have been checking on line like a maniac, regularly (even though i know they only update the BRN website daily).
Still no sign of my name. Thought for sure my name would pop up within 3 days....on day 4....still no sign. argg!
I sure hope this PVT is real - just so hard not to worry that it wont work for me!
fingers and toes still crossed.
The PVT IS real, stop stressing, and go celebrate!! My friend's name didn't show up on the BON for over 1 week, mine was there in 2 days, so you never know when it will be updated, but if you got the good pop up, you are good to go!! I promise!
I just refused to pay $7.95... it's not the $, it's the principle, they have made enough $ out of me...
I'm in CA and took NCLEX on July 5. My name wasn't on the BRN webpage until July 12. My classmate took it July 12 and her name just showed up this morning. Both of us got the good pop up, but the wait to know for sure was still agonizing. So far everyone in my class has waited 1-2 weeks for their name to show on the CA BRN site, and the PVT has been 100% accurate. Try not to stress about it, if you got the good pop up you passed!

I didn't study much for the NCLEX - maybe 4 hours total. I don't think it actually helped me any. However, I did study the NCLEX reviews book by systems before regular med-surge tests and our school made us take an online NCLEX review course.
I think it's about what you learned while going to school. I figured out most of the questions using a common sense (or how my teacher told me today - critical thinking).
There were lots of questions about drugs I've never even heard of...but usually you can figure out what they are for - names starting gly or glu have something to do with glucose etc...Good luck!
