  1. I am in the middle of the RN-MSN program now. I graduated from nursing school in May 2012 and started the RN-MSN program in September. I had a job offer in Critical Care before graduation, as I had already been working there as a secretary/tele tech and I started working with my interim permit before I even took boards becasue my unit was so understaffed. I don't know if having a job is a requirement for admission, however I think it would be nearly impossible to do the Capstone project without having a nursing job, just because of the requirements of the project. I started in September and I am almost done with the program. I am working on my Nurse Educator Specialty right now and then all I have left is my Capstone project/ Oral defense. I talked to my mentor this morning and my projected grad date is January 2014, but she thinks I will finish by November or December. That will be about 15 months for the entire RN-MSN program and I had 4 prereqs I had to take. There are 90 hours in Community Health that you have to do, I am in CA so I had to be associated with an agency and there were other additional requirements. Other than that it was all online. There is a lot of writing, but I didn't think it was that bad. I love the program and think it is great. I have a previous BA in English and a Master's in Library and Information Science.
  2. I'm in CA and took it on July 5th. My name was on the BRN site on July 12, so exactly one week. Most of my classmates have had a similar experience anywhere from 5-8 days. There were a couple of my classmates who waited an entire 2 weeks, but they took NCLEX the same week our school sent transcripts, so that is what probably delayed it. The PVT has been 100% accurate for the people I have talked to so far, so I am sure you passed!
  3. I'm in CA and took NCLEX on July 5. My name wasn't on the BRN webpage until July 12. My classmate took it July 12 and her name just showed up this morning. Both of us got the good pop up, but the wait to know for sure was still agonizing. So far everyone in my class has waited 1-2 weeks for their name to show on the CA BRN site, and the PVT has been 100% accurate. Try not to stress about it, if you got the good pop up you passed!
  4. I took NCLEX-RN on 7/5, came home and tried the trick and got the good pop-up. My name was on the BRN website on 7/11, so the trick worked for me!
  5. Thank you for the info! It sounds more reasonable now that I know it isn't 90 clinical hours with a public health nurse. Congrats on finishing your degree!
  6. Hi, I am looking to start either the RN-BSN or RN-MSN program soon. My ultimate goal is the MSN so I am thinking it will probably be that program. My main concern is with the hours required for the community health portion. How difficult was it to get the hours that they required while working full time?
  7. I know. I really don't know what is going on either. One of my friends has all A's in the prereqs and she has been waiting for a year now. It really makes no sense, but I am happy I am finally getting close!
  8. Thanks! That is good to know. I have all A's except for 1 B in physio, but I have been waiting since May of 07. I am still going to apply at GWC, Cerritos and Saddleback for fall just in case since I really want to start somewhere in the fall. Good Luck to you too!
  9. Hi Laurel, How long ago did you get your letter saying you could take 112 and 103? I just got my letter today saying I should take them and I am wondering if I will really be admitted in either fall 2010 or spring 2011 like the letter says. Thanks!
