Yes, the trick works!!! I was also skeptical, like everyone else. The crazy thing is I’m not even the nursing student, it’s my husband. However, I have been on this rollercoaster ride with him. I was helping him search for NCLEX study guides on the forum when I found out about the trick.

My husband took the NCLEX on 2/1/2012 at 2pm. Shut off at 121 questions. Like others have stated he didn’t feel confident that he passed. He called me when he left the testing center and I jumped right on the computer to do the trick. We found out today via Quick Results that he passed. When PV says it takes 48 hours, it is exactly 48 hours from the time you started the test. His results posted at 2:01 today. Congrats to all the new nurses.

The same thing happened with me. My transcripts weren't sent on time, but I also got the "good pop up". I found out yesterday that I passed! I don't think it matters if the BRN has completed your file. Pearson still knows whether you passed, and they are not connected with the BRN, except to give results. If you got an IP, keep checking that status as well. As long as it's up, you're good. The BRN takes that down as soon as they get the notice that someone failed.

What do you mean by "IP". I've been checking the BRN daily and I do the PVT once each day just to make sure the good pop up hasn't changed. I'm in CA so I'm not sure what you mean about the IP?

i hope the ip trick works, too. my ip is still up, i got the "good pop up" 1 hour after i took the exam on 2-2-12. but i called the ca brn yesterday and spoke to someone who said my final transcript is not in my file. i know my school mailed them on 1-19-12, and two of my classmates have already gotten there notification of licensure. so, i know the brn has them. the person i spoke to said they are really behind and were even going to be working today, saturday, trying to get through all of the transcripts. i heard that literally, there are stacks of paperwork that they are trying to get through.

trying to hang in there. i'm so inpatient.

Hi KRIS78,

I was wondering if you've been back to the Pearson Vue site again since you found out that you passed. I'm wondering what the pop up says now if you try to re-register? This would confirm whether or not the message goes away once you have an official pass confirmed.

Thanks!

yes, the trick does work.

took my boards on 10/08/11, stopped at the 140th question, went home and checked online, and it lead me to the cc payment page. i got my official results a few days later in the mail and it confirmed that i didn't pass. =(

i'm back with an update! mind you it's very long. :)

a week after this devastation, i womaned-up and scheduled round 2 for 02/04/2012. actually, i put away my books and didn't study for two whole months. crazy, i know, but i needed a break from it all. before i knew it, the last week of january was here. just this past monday and for the entire week leading up to round 2, i mainly did focused reviews on what i felt needed to be brushed upon. i used saunder's qbank for my practice exams, reading the rationale and strategy for every question, and also going back to the kaplan book to review the topic for extra reinforcement if needed. i also used some review guides/tips here on allnurses, which helped remember details more easily. i did roughly 700 questions, hitting between 61-69% on the practice exams, which was not bad but not great either.

i took round 2 yesterday morning at 8am, feeling slightly nervous and a little queasy but a lot better than i had felt the first time around. i went at a very slow pace, reading thoroughly, and busting out my imperfect kaplan decision-tree making skills hoping that i chose desired answers. i was hoping it would shut off at 75 but it kept going and going and going. and i thought, please don't let this happen to me again! then finally, it shut off at 98! i took about 3.5 hours, which is very long for just 97 questions but surprisingly i was the first one out of there. there was a pinch of pharm/med calc, a serving of prioritizing/delegation, a dose of child/elderly health, and a sprinkle of mental health questions. my crux was still and always will be the "select all that apply" and/or "put in the correct order" type of questions, which it kept giving me one after the other. overall, i found this exam to be unusually easier than the first time i had taken it.

after hesitating the entire day to check my results via pv trick, i finally gave in because i wanted to confirm what i felt inside. however, i still went as far as covering my computer screen with paper while i clicked the "next" button on the registration form and even hesitating more to take the paper off afterwards. well, i still didn't and it was still covered. anyway, i didn't know where my arrow was, and i mistakenly clicked my mouse and hit the "back" button of my browser and it beeped. and i thought, why was it doing that? i slowly lifted the paper off my screen, and there it was the golden pop-up, which was preventing my browser from going "back". i was so ecstatic at that moment and i still am at the fact that i can't stop smiling that i don't have to face the nclex again! seriously, what a great feeling this is! :D

Hi! I mean if you got your temporary license. In CA it is referred to as an IP. If you got one and it is still up, then you haven't failed. It is how I checked when I didn't have results.

Oh, thanks for letting me know. Did u see my other question to u about doing the pvt trick now that you've passed? I'm curious if the pop up goes away eventually.
