Hawaii Pacific Health
I went through it a few weeks ago. It's all computerized testing. It's timed, multiple choice, and very straight forward. You don't have to demonstrate your skills. It's like a quick competence check and preemployment screen if you will. If you pass, HR then sends out your apps to the hiring managers for the jobs to which you applied for. However, you get called back for skills testing for each separate job you apply for (ex. RN, CNA, Ward Clerk, etc.)

Pearsonvue Trick - Does it Work Every Time? Part 3
i'm back with an update! mind you it's very long. :) a week after this devastation, i womaned-up and scheduled round 2 for 02/04/2012. actually, i put away my books and didn't study for two whole months. crazy, i know, but i needed a break from it all. before i knew it, the last week of january was here. just this past monday and for the entire week leading up to round 2, i mainly did focused reviews on what i felt needed to be brushed upon. i used saunder's qbank for my practice exams, reading the rationale and strategy for every question, and also going back to the kaplan book to review the topic for extra reinforcement if needed. i also used some review guides/tips here on allnurses, which helped remember details more easily. i did roughly 700 questions, hitting between 61-69% on the practice exams, which was not bad but not great either. i took round 2 yesterday morning at 8am, feeling slightly nervous and a little queasy but a lot better than i had felt the first time around. i went at a very slow pace, reading thoroughly, and busting out my imperfect kaplan decision-tree making skills hoping that i chose desired answers. i was hoping it would shut off at 75 but it kept going and going and going. and i thought, please don't let this happen to me again! then finally, it shut off at 98! i took about 3.5 hours, which is very long for just 97 questions but surprisingly i was the first one out of there. there was a pinch of pharm/med calc, a serving of prioritizing/delegation, a dose of child/elderly health, and a sprinkle of mental health questions. my crux was still and always will be the "select all that apply" and/or "put in the correct order" type of questions, which it kept giving me one after the other. overall, i found this exam to be unusually easier than the first time i had taken it. after hesitating the entire day to check my results via pv trick, i finally gave in because i wanted to confirm what i felt inside. however, i still went as far as covering my computer screen with paper while i clicked the "next" button on the registration form and even hesitating more to take the paper off afterwards. well, i still didn't and it was still covered. anyway, i didn't know where my arrow was, and i mistakenly clicked my mouse and hit the "back" button of my browser and it beeped. and i thought, why was it doing that? i slowly lifted the paper off my screen, and there it was the golden pop-up, which was preventing my browser from going "back". i was so ecstatic at that moment and i still am at the fact that i can't stop smiling that i don't have to face the nclex again! seriously, what a great feeling this is!

Registration process to retake the NCLEX
@Iammaj28 - I applied at the Hawaii BON. The rep told me that I didn't need to submit another application form and fee, as they still had my app on file and will only charge the fee once I pass the exam albeit that I have to complete it in two years. I called PV's customer service three times to update the program code on my registration form and each time I got a different answer, which made me more confused and frustrated. So finally, I went ahead and just chatted with a rep online. And let me tell you, it was so much easier and they updated the program code! One phone agent told me that I had to contact my BON to get the program code, re-register and pay the $200 again to change the code, and I'll be refunded the $200 that I payed the first time I re-registered. All this time I'm thinking PV has a no refund policy. I'm still unsure about the first question though.

Registration process to retake the NCLEX
I recently took my NCLEX and unfortunately I failed. The devastation I felt was horrible! Today I just registered to retake the exam, and now I'm wondering if I did it the wrong way. I just need some clarification on a few things, and I thought you guys would be more helpful because I couldn't understand PV's customer service rep. First, the question where it asked "Have you ever taken an NCLEX exam to qualify for the same license?" I could've sworn I put "No" but it checked "Yes." Is this correct? Second, I think I might've put the wrong program code when I re-registered. For the program code, I put the code for re-entry/board request. Is this wrong or should I have put the code of the university that I graduated from? If so, could it be changed before I receive my ATT? Lastly, I didn't receive an app form from my BON when they mailed my results. The paper that they gave stated that they have my app on file for two years to complete the licensing process. But PV's customer service rep told me that I needed to apply again to the BON for them to give me an ATT. Who's right in this case? Thank you for taking the time to read through this, and I really would appreciate the help! :)
