Very important: At this point, if you get a pop up that says 'the candidate currently has test results that are on hold. A new registration cannot be created at this time.', it has nothing to do with passing or failing; it just means that they are reviewing your records due to random reviews that they conduct, or because they needed to locate some data or papers, etc.

This means you will possibly have to wait a few more days than your friends who did not get this message. If you get the message 'Records indicates you have recently registered for this test please contact BON. An appointment cannot be scheduled at this time.', that means you passed. If you do not get either message and go straight to the credit card information page, that means you did not pass.

Your Pearsonvue account must state that delivery is successful before you try the trick.

hi everyone

i took pn nclex on 9/26/15 and i try to check my result after few days but it said my test result is not available.is any one had this experience ?thanks

Result not available refers only to quick results. Do you live in CA or another state that does not participate in quick results? If so it will say results not available forever even after you passed and receive a license.

i live in ca . i don't know why not let me check my result i am so sad. waiting is not fun :(

If RN check on BreeZe wait is 2-6 weeks

If PN average wait for results letter mailed is 6-8 weeks. License isn't listed until letter received and licensing fee is paid.

You have a long wait nothing you can do but be patient

Hi everyone,

I am posting in behalf of my mom. She took her NCLEX-PN here in California yesterday. She finished the test in 3 hrs but she couldn't remember what number she stopped. I tried doing the PVT right after she got home and she's getting a pop up that saying "the candidate has results that are on hold. A new registration cannot be made at this time." I read the previous posts and I found out that it's either her transcript is being reviewed or there's a problem with her fingerprint. I'm thinking maybe it's the transcript coz when I registered her at pearsonvue's website I just guessed the month of graduation coz she couldn't remember when was the exact month her LVN program ended.

Does anyone of you have experienced this? How long did you guys have to wait before this pop up changed?

Hope you can answer these questions. We're both anxious if she passed or failed. This is her 4th time taking the test. I really hope that she passed this time.

Transcripts are not likely the reason for the hold as the BoN has nothing to do with results on hold. Most common are palm vein scan issues and standing rather than raising hand. Or a system issue such as power glitch. Unless an egregious rule violation (and she would know), holds are an average of 48-72 hours while the QA/QC audits the check in/out and exam.

Thank you so much for your quick response. I just talked to her and she said she didn't experienced any power glitch or problem with palm scan. She did used the restroom once and accessed her locker for less than 5 mins just to drink and take a little bite of food. She said the lady was watching her the entire time.

If she remediated and had a different response pattern than previous attempts or tested more quickly or slowly a hold can be triggered. If she did nothing wrong, she can hurry up and wait for 2-3 days and PV will release the results to the BoN post audit.

Hurry up up and wait is the hardest part

Yeah she's really anxious. This is her 4th time taking the nclex. But yeah, the only thing that we can do is wait. Anyways, thank you so much for the info. I really appreciate it.

I guess the only thing I could offer at this point is that merely having a 'hold' on the results doesn't mean she failed....doesn't mean she passed....it just "IS". Good luck to you mom!

UPDATE: PEARSON MAY HAVE CHANGED THE TRICK!!!!!

I have been reading everyone's post from the beginning and have fully believed in the message stating "our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Another registration cannot be made at this time" So I took my NCLEX RN at 12:30 yesterday afternoon. It shut off at 75 and I felt iffy, bouncing between feeling like I was guessing on everything to thinking of some I got right. Yesterday night at 5:00 I decided to enter my credit card number and got the good pop up "our records indicate...another registration cannot be made at this time". I was beyond myself happy that I felt 100% sure I passed. I wanted to reassure myself so an hour later I entered all my info again, and this time did not get the message. My heart dropped, in fear that now I hadn't passed?!?! this all isn't making sense and I'm losing my mind. How could I get the 100% proof of passing message the first time and now I don't? please help. I'm not sure if maybe Pearson is catching on or that they changed it to only giving you that passing message once. I'm beside myself and praying I passed based on my first look. I wish I had never kept checking. Please, if you have an info on this chime in.

The PVT is not 100% proof of pass/fail, as you have now learned. The only 100% is official results. You could have easily been "passing" at 5:00, and at second scoring "failed," as it is scored twice before results are released.

When you entered your credit card number a second time (very bad idea, btw, as you only increase the odds that you GET the card charge to go through)....what message DID you get? Did you pay $200 for a new registration? Did you get a "card declined" message?

Nothing has changed recently regarding PVT; it has ALWAYS been a crapshoot. Since the majority of the time people got the results they expected, or the results matched the PVT message, "it worked". Doing it prematurely, as you most definitely did, increases the likelihood you will not have anything remotely 'accurate'.

Every exam undergoes a QA review during the 24 hours following the exam. Your initial score is determined the moment the computer stops; sometimes the QA determines a different result is warranted. Thus, someone who does the PVT immediately post-test and gets one pop up will often get a different pop up if they repeat the game. Anything 'on the fence' can flip a result.

People who get ONLY the minimum number of questions, however, are NOT "on the fence". You clearly passed, or clearly failed. Unfortunately, the PVT is not 100%, so you shouldn't rejoice or despair until you get ACTUAL results. Are Quick Results available in your State?
