Here are the exact steps to see if you passed the NCLEX exam on the Pearson Vue web site.
Updated:
Very important: At this point, if you get a pop up that says 'the candidate currently has test results that are on hold. A new registration cannot be created at this time.', it has nothing to do with passing or failing; it just means that they are reviewing your records due to random reviews that they conduct, or because they needed to locate some data or papers, etc.
This means you will possibly have to wait a few more days than your friends who did not get this message. If you get the message 'Records indicates you have recently registered for this test please contact BON. An appointment cannot be scheduled at this time.', that means you passed. If you do not get either message and go straight to the credit card information page, that means you did not pass.
Your Pearsonvue account must state that delivery is successful before you try the trick.

I took the NCLEX, broke down and tried the trick. I never received the good pop up that everyone's talking about; it took me to the payment screen every time. I was then super upset for 48 hours because I "knew" I failed. BUT I passed! The pop up does not work every time. Just because you didn't get the pop it does not mean you've failed. I would reccomend not even trying the trick because of its inconsistency.

Hi, and welcome to AN! Regarding the PVT: Pearson Vue changed its registration software back in August of 2014, from that time on EVERYONE is taken to the credit card page. I means absolutely nothing. You are posting on a VERY OLD thread, that despite my fervent wish that it would disappear, it still magically reappears
The most recent version of the PVT is actually about as "accurate" as it has ever been, but is done differently: you must enter your credit card information and SUBMIT it. If you receive a pop up telling you that you cannot register for another exam, that is the 'good' pop up, but it only appears IF YOU SUBMIT that data. Also, it is ONLY even remotely reliable if it is done AFTER 24 HOURS, as each and every exam is scored TWICE: once immediately upon closing (which is why it closed when it did) and once again for QA purposes at an unknown point during the next 24 hours. NO point in doing it early, none....some people can't seem to help themselves, LOL, but they are no more 'in the know" about their results than before because they only "know" ONE score. Useless.
Keep in mind, anyone who is reading this and hasn't done it yet, that even if you DO pass, you DO run the risk of having a 'test' charge placed by Pearson Vue for the amount of a registration. You are, after all, going past two screens telling you it is non-refundable and should you NOT need a new registration (exam) you aren't entitled to a refund of their service charge for setting it up.
Does that clarify?
I took my nuclei pn yesterday. Am freaking out about this test. i felt good about it though but it is allowing me to register again. Is there anyone who tried to register again, went straight to payment but still passed?
Since August 2014 everyone goes to the payment page. You must enter credit card info and submit risking $200 to attend this game
I was told by several people that all you have to do is enter the wrong expiration date from your card, so if you do fail, it'll decline your card
Not true. At least two have posted here that they were charged. It's happened to me, not for PVT but an online transaction. I entered the wrong expiration by unintentionally transposing numbers and the charge went through. Most definitely not accurate way to try and prevent a $200 test charge
