Pearson Vue Trick was WRONG!!!!!!!

Published

I was crying so much after doing the pearson vue trick. I followed every direction on how to obtain it. I made sure my status said DELIVERY IS SUCCESSFUL. It went through the credit card page. I tried it so many times. I made sure AGAIN that my status said delivery is successful. and AGAIN, it went to the credit card page. I thought I failed.

HOWEVER! I passed!!!!! I got the quick results and I passed.

I took RN NCLEX Mar 21 all day I had "good pop-up". Next day on Mar 22 I had turn over to cc?

Welcome to allnurses hurinb thanks for making your very first post here. I have researched this subject and can not include your post in my statistics because you have never posted here before. My theory is that your post, like many others that say the trick is wrong, could be posted by the site admin to up hits to the site or just could be someone who wants to stir the pot.

All trusted sources agree - the pearson vue trick works 100% every time!

You must wait for delivery to be successful and your results can not be on hold.

I took the NCLEX yesterday 5hrs 45min and 265 questions later I was finished...... I got the good pop up but I am not convinced I passed. I felt the test was not that hard. I had MM every 2-3 questions lots of drag and put in order, prioritizing, a bunch of educating staff questions. A lot of psch on mania. I heard if you get the last question right on 265 that determines if you pass? Any credence to this? Does the 265 pop up thing work every time with 265?

I god good pop up and failed. Believe it or not I'm one in a million I guess. I took my test March 20 2014. Thursday 1st 76 questions 3hrs. Good pop up contact the......I checked over 1000× Saturday March 22, 2014 after 42 hrs I checked put again and got cc page I was what went wrong? Cause last time I checked was Friday 2am.so between 2am to 9am something went wrong. I'm total in shock crying like crazy I can't wait for Monday to call the nursing board cause I want to file appeal and want to see if they can regrade my test again. This is weird.

allnurses has over 700,000 members. The ADMIN and owner have no need to increase site traffic with inaccurate information. Results can be placed on hold by the board after the test has been delivered for many reasons.

The PV trick is usually correct 99% of the time, however, there are a few that it does not seem to provide accurate early results. I have seen both those who believe they pass ad do not and those who believe they have failed and do not.

Nothing is 100%

There is no regrading. Does your state participate in quick results ? That would be more definitive than a registration "trick" with faults. If you called the BoN, Pearson Vue, or NCSBN because the "trick" you will be told no such trick is valid not exists. If you have not received quick results or your notification of pass/fail from the BoN you will only be told to wait for official results.

If there were a particular question that you wished to challenge potential answers there is a process described on the NCSBN website. However one question usually does not push you over the pass/fail bench mark. Since this is a pass/fail test there is no re-scoring, no grades, no partial credit. How the test is administered, scores, and the passing mark is determined is explained in detail on the NCSBN website in the test plans and FAQs.

If you did indeed fail, I am sorry. Please remember that the "fail"/"CC page" is not official.

For those who swear "the trick" is completely correct 100% of the time, I would have to ask you this: why would Pearson Vue not recognize this as fact? Why do you suppose that Pearson Vue states very clearly that it does not support or acknowledge any results other than the official ones provided through Quick Results, the State BON websites, or the USPS?

I have seen on this forum people who were looking for some kind of special dispensation, some kind of special reversal of decision, because they *thought* they passed (based on "the trick") and in fact did not. They believed *someone* should be held accountable for their suffering (that being thinking they passed when they did not). Sad in many directions.

Bottom line is it is called a "trick" because it is a good one, one that usually is accurate. But not always. And if you put your faith in a "trick" that proves false, well.....that's on you.

I'm sure this has been asked but what's wrong with WAITING for official results from the BON?

Have you never heard the phrase "instant gratification takes too long"? ;)

After I tested, I was able to pay for the Quick Results, 48 hours after testing. I swear they were the longest 48 hours of my life, BUT they were official results. No guesswork. No trying to interpret what it meant. You either saw your name and the word PASSED or FAILED. Period.

For States that don't participate in Quick Results, I feel the pain for those who have to wait for the results to either be posted on the BON website (days) or get them in the mail (days-a week). I am just as anxious as the next person.

But to freak out over a "trick", a glitch in a computer program that allows you to *most of the time* correctly guess your test status.....that's a waste of time, IMHO. I read people who post over and over and over things like WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?? I CHECKED 100s of TIMES!!! DID I PASS??? and of course no one can answer that for them, not on a message board.

Always wait for official results before cheering or freaking, IMHO. ?

afterthought: while Quick Results are technically unofficial, there has yet to be any complaint over their validity. Quick Results ARE condoned by Pearson Vue (it's their results) and ONLY indicates passing or failing of the NCLEX. It CAN be used to determine passing or failing of the test...but only that. If there's a sticky wicket keeping someone from getting a license from their State, that's a matter for the BON. But Quick Results as a tool for determining passing or failing of the NCLEX itself IS quite valid.

Remember technically quick results are unofficial also. Only the results sent from your BoN are official. You can check your license status online. Some states post the new license online which is faster than waiting for the USPS to deliver your pass/fail and licensing status letter. Other states take weeks to finalize the letter and send it out but you cannot apply for a licensed nursing position until you have your official results/license. No one is going to hire a nurse because "the Pearson Vue trick says I passed".

It's hard to wait but you didn't finish nursing school overnight. It's difficult and anxiety provoking to wait for the unknown but sometimes we have to wait to get an answer. Same if you have a patient waiting for biopsy, pathology, or culture results. Nothing is going to make the answer appear sooner. Take a break try and take your mind off the waiting (easier said than done)

The PVT is nothing more than an anomoly, a trick. It is not guaranteed to be accurate nor is it official.

There is no re-grading or manual scoring of the NCLEX. If you did not meet the minimum entry to practice standards in ALL domains ( not near but meet or exceed) you failed. The test is "scored" as you test and the questions are chosen by the computer based upon your statistical performance. There is a section on the NCSBN website as well as FAQ that explain this fully.

One addition, the number of SATA, alternate format, or what the tester perceives as "difficult" questions is NOT indicative of pass fail. What it may think is a hard SATA you may find easy. There are "lower cognitive level" and "higher cognitive level" (based on Bloom's taxonomy not tester or question creator perceived difficulty) for ALL types of questions (multiple choice and alternate format). This is a fact and clearly stated on the NCSBN website.

The ONLY source for official results is your board of nursing. Not the PVT, not quick results, not your school, not the guy sitting next to you. Only the BoN determines if you are eligible for licensing based upon your education, criminal background check, passing the NCLEX, and medical status to safely practice as a nurse.

So until you receive the determination for the board of nursing nothing is final or official. I'm sorry if hurry up & wait is hard to hear, but it is reality.

The only complaint I saw about quick results was that the candidate passed the NCLEX but was denied licensure. The unofficial comment was meant to indicate that passing the NCLEX does not automatically entitle one to the title nurse or a license to practice as a nurse. (I should have clarified, that while it is accurate whether one passed/failed it is not a guaranteed license) While some states NCLEX is the final step to licensing, it is not the final step in all states.

Ah, yes, absolutely....I can see where there would be confusion on official vs unofficial when it comes to whether the applicant should expect a license. Probably for most people, getting past the NCLEX is their last hurdle; *most* know if that murder conviction in their past will be a snag in getting an RN license ? Then again......after reading some of these posts and threads.....maybe not!
