Hi Everyone,
First, I just want to thank everyone that comes to this website to share his or her experience. This website literally keeps people alive and going during some tough times. You might not know it, but there are tens of people out there that quote this website each day.
My journey with the Nclex-RN in California started on the 2th of December. I took the Nclex, I went home and tried the PVT, and it gave me the good pop-up. 24 hours and 4 days later, I was still getting the good pop-up. A week passed and no result or license, I was anxious to say the least, as some of my classmates got their license within 48 - 72 hours after taking the exam.
I always came to this website to get some courage as the weeks rolled by. Finally on 31st of December, I got my license. The long wait was over.
My main reason of writing today is that through my experience, I found out that the pearson vue trick is not a trick. It is the way the computer is programmed. If one fails the Nclex, it will take your money or decline your card accordingly (for insufficient funds or being invalid). The so called trick works perfectly.
Secondly, If you live in California, and you get the good pop-up after 24 hours of taking the Nclex, you passed. The waiting time has to do with the BRN taking so much time to process files. Keep strong and keep faith, you will get your license.
Took the NCLEX last Friday (2/20) and the test shut down at around 75-76 questions (I can't remember now, All I know was a I took a break at 74 questions and came back praying for more questions since I was second guessing my answers [anxiety for sure]). I was determined to use the PVT trick just to ease my anxiety. Did not know that it was better to take it after 24 hours so I tried the PVT an hour after the test. I got a good pop-up and felt better but my wife reminded me to keep my fingers crossed and just wait for the Quick results. The next day (Saturday afternoon) I tried the PVT again and still a good pop-up. I used an Amex gift card with $4 left on it. Finally, yesterday afternoon, I made the payment for quick results, me and my wife prayed and then pressed the submit payment button. It was a PASS.
RNsRWe said:Just a quick note: while I totally understand you are nervous and trying to do something to ease the anxiety.....checking the PVT over and over and over isn't going to do a blessed thing for you. Actually, you are lucky the first score was a pass and not a fail, as otherwise you knowingly doing it too early only risked losing $ on that that "looksee". Checking it again and again before 24 hours may be cathartic in some way, but.....it ISN'T going to change until and unless the second score is different from the first. And you won't know that until 24 hours has passed, so.....why are you making yourself nuts?
Breathe...it's almost over ?
Yeah, you are right~ and it is been 4 days after my test. I checked it is still the same pop-up. I just wish it will be true. Really don't like waiting and especially I am in CA....
abcdef23 said:Yes still waiting ?Actually, it'll be 2 weeks tomorrow...the bvnpt does not post for LVNs (in advance) we just have to wait, unfortunately
NO WAY!! My friend told that they do post in advance for PN. You should check. I think your license is almost there. Good luck ! please update after.
I just wanted to add to the current statistical figures for an affirmative count for the accuracy of the P.V. trick. I took my test on 2/20, and tried to schedule myself for a second go-round the same day. The system let me go all the way through to payment method (I entered all the information correctly, EXCEPT the expiration date of my credit card). After entering the payment info and hitting submit, a message popped up saying that I could not register for another exam at that time because I have already been scheduled for one. Since my state board hasn't posted my license, I paid the $7.95 for the quick results and got the affirmative pop-up saying that I've passed.
Three days post-test, I still don't have a license number, but as far as the trick theory is concerned, it has worked for me.
Took NCLEX-RN on Tuesday 2/24/2015. Started at 0800 and ended around 1030. Used trick 10 hours or so after I finished the exam and got the "good pop up." Used trick AGAIN 26 and a half hours after I finished the exam and still got the "good pop up," knowing that the exam is scored twice.
Still holding my breath for now. I will update with my quick results tomorrow morning sometime around 1030 EST.

I believe you passed!! congrats!
How long is a hold usually? I took my Nclex on Tues 2/24 I got 75 questions . When I checked in my left palm wouldn't scan. Plus for me being so nervous being my second time after the test was done and it went back to the log in screen I waited no one came so I got up like a dummy. The lady ushered me back to my area and told me I wasn't supposed to get up. I told her I was done I was just so nervous. Is it possible that I passed.
QUICK RESULTS: PASS
Trick worked for me, I guess!

I wrote on Feb 19 in Ontario. Got the full 265, took me 3.5 hours. I had no access to quick results being in Canada and was nervous to test the trick. I did so the first time about 48 hours after I wrote using my CC with wrong expiry date. Got the good pop up and can say I just received my letter saying I passed! Trick worked for me Good luck to everyone!

Yes. Since you took all 265 questions, at the end the CAT determined with a 95% certainty that you were above the passing standard at that point. If you had not met that standard, you would have failed.
congrats ?
