First, I just want to thank everyone that comes to this website to share his or her experience. This website literally keeps people alive and going during some tough times. You might not know it, but there are tens of people out there that quote this website each day.
My journey with the Nclex-RN in California started on the 2th of December. I took the Nclex, I went home and tried the PVT, and it gave me the good pop-up. 24 hours and 4 days later, I was still getting the good pop-up. A week passed and no result or license, I was anxious to say the least, as some of my classmates got their license within 48 - 72 hours after taking the exam.
I always came to this website to get some courage as the weeks rolled by. Finally on 31st of December, I got my license. The long wait was over.
My main reason of writing today is that through my experience, I found out that the pearson vue trick is not a trick. It is the way the computer is programmed. If one fails the Nclex, it will take your money or decline your card accordingly (for insufficient funds or being invalid). The so called trick works perfectly.
Secondly, If you live in California, and you get the good pop-up after 24 hours of taking the Nclex, you passed. The waiting time has to do with the BRN taking so much time to process files. Keep strong and keep faith, you will get your license.
Just wanted to share my experience withthe PVT. I Took NCLEX-PN in CA on 12/30/14, CA doesn't participate inquick results so I had to patiently wait to receive my result viamail. I tried to PVT many times after my test day and got the goodpop up. Got my result in the mail yesterday (1/30/15) and I passed.So, yes the PVT trick works!
I took the test Thursday 1/29/15 @ 1pm. took ALL 265 questions, gahd it was a disaster, since I was crying and just dying WHILE taking the test. I finished at 6ish and was a total mess.
Went out, grab myself a drink and just stayed out until 1 in the morning. then I decided to check the PVT when I got home, and sure enough I had the "good pop up" and I couldn't believe it at all. and so I tried again when I woke up in the morning and 24hrs and 36hrs and finally 48hrs came and I got quick results and it was a PASS.
And on a side note, this is my third time taking this devil of a test and the past two times I tried the PVT I always got the bad pop up within 24hrs or not !
So in my opinion -and from what I've researched, if you get the bad popup from the start no matter how soon you checked it, its a retake but if you got a good popup then it's already a pass in the beginning (within 24hrs or not)

Then I guess you missed the thread of postings from the person who had the bad pop up, paid $200 for the privilege of getting that pop up....and then 24 hours later passed? Or any of the others, posted here on this forum? Probably not, since I see you just joined and only have two posts...so...you probably don't know. I'm sorry, but your opinion doesn't correlate with fact
Only those who had the same result on BOTH scorings feel as you do. But for all the others, who had their second score be different from the first, they know better now. Many (maybe you, too?) are not aware of there even BEING two scores, which is why you have NO valid result until 24 hours' time has passed.
The first two times you flunked the exam, you did so conclusively: your second score was a fail both times. THIS time, though, you did much better, and your first score AND second scores were passes ?
I see where you are coming from, but wouldn't those people who got charged was due to them using a card that actually can go through? if they used a card with Insufficient funds they would've gotten the good pop up. And i did say "in my opinion" and I'm not staying it as a fact at all:up:
Hello all just want to say all of your posts have been very reassuring to me. I tested yesterday 1/31 and tried the trick last night and today a few minutes ago and both times got the good pop up. Does anyone know if you test on a Saturday will results be up by Monday or Tuesday? Wasnt sure if it was business hours or whatever. PA will post it on their site within 48 hours so I am keeping the faith that I passed until then!

The point was you stated that if you got a 'bad' popup from the start, you'd always get the bad pop up, but if you got a good one, it too would stay a good one....and that just simply isn't true. Unfortunately, much of the time people will read only one or two posts on a topic and decide they now know everything about it....a real disservice considering how much absolutely wrong information is posted all over this forum!
Regardless of what payment method anyone uses, valid or fictitious, if you do this thing too soon all you will know is what your first score was (attempted to be charged, or actually charged, same thing). But it's the SECOND score that matters, and there's clearly enough people here who have no idea that the exam is scored twice to get that across to everyone. There are still far too many posting things like "try it right after you finish the test, it works!!!" and they couldn't be more wrong
PVT worked for me. Thanks all for the tips on how to use. I did it 25 hours after my exam end and used a goggled "free empty gift card". Got the good one and later found that I passed.

Use the wrong expiration date of your credit card and if you passed it should give you the good pop up page
