I wanted to share this information because just last night I was frantically searching for it myself and couldn't find anything current. The date today is 2/10/16. I took NCLEX yesterday and I know I passed because my name is listed as having an active license from the state. However, the Pearson Vue Trick did not work for me! Even right now, knowing that I passed, it is still letting me register for a new test!
So, if it lets you register please do not rely on this alone! You still may have passed!
I hope this is helpful to someone who is out there thinking they failed because the almighty Pearson Vue Trick didn't work for them!
Hi guys,Thank goodness for this forum! I have been going crazy waiting for my results! I took the exam in CA on 2/11/16. Got ~160 questions, and was feeling awful about the exam. Which sucks, because I did all of the Kaplan prep, and was scoring high on all of their practice exams and Q Bank. It seemed like my questions were all priority "who do you see first", SATAs (many of them 5-6 in a row).
I did the PVT trick using an expired card. Got the good pop up "Our records indicate that the candidate has already registered for an exam. Another registration cannot be made at this time." Have checked back at 24, 48, and 72 hours, and am still getting the good pop up. This wait is driving me bonkers. I am so nervous about whether I passed or not. I can't believe that CA doesn't participate in quick results, especially since they are so backed up with applications and processing times.
Although it seems from what I'm reading and from what my classmates have experienced, if you do the PVT right (expired card, SUBMIT payment) and you get the pop-up I mentioned above, you have passed. If you get the "on hold" pop up, they are rechecking your exam for disprepencies, or dealing with an issue with the testing center. If after you hit SUBMIT payment, and it declines your card, you have failed. Fingers crossed! I just wanna pass!
If you got the good pop up the odds are in your favor, I'm not disputing the good pop up. All the reading I have done on this seems to have the same conclusion: good pop up is a good sign. I'm arguing if you didn't get a pop up at all or you got the bad pop up. If this were accurate I should have had the good pop up since I know now I passed.
Good luck to everyone!! So now what do you guys think new grads should study? I have heard really good reviews about the Hurst but what do you guys think?
I used a great app on the IPhone called NCLEX RN Mastery. I paid for the full version and practiced questions daily and I think it really helped as a refresher.
Bonjourno everyone,
I took my NCLEX on February 11th and still have my results on hold. I've done the PVT trick so many times that if it actually charged my credit card, it would probably be maxed out by now. It just keeps saying "The candidate currently has test results that are on hold. A new registration cannot be made at this time."
My state participates in quick results and those have never been available. I would gladly give Pearson another $7.99 to know that I passed...
I contacted Pearson using the online chat thingy twice to ask why my results were on hold.
One person told me to wait another 24 hours and recheck... its been over two days now...nothing
Another guy told me to contact my BON.
So I contacted my BON and got a response of "DO NOT CONTACT THE BON REGARDING NCLEX RESULTS."
Trying to stay positive, but I am beginning to wonder why I paid $200 to take a test if no one can tell me if I passed or not.
Frustrated...
Any advice???
I took the nclex - rn exam yesterday morning (2/17) it shut off around 78-80 which I was shocked. I didn't get a lot of SATA questions and most of my questions seemed really basic. Not easy, just your basic multiple choice. I did the Pearson vue trick and have gotten the good pop up right after the exam up until 5 minutes ago which is past the 24 hour mark. I would feel better if my test was made up of more of the questions I hear about people getting when they passed.
any thoughts?!?!

You tried too many times. You offered them $200 and they took it. You will not get an accurate pop up now
Holds are due to test irregularities standing up instead of raising hand, Palm scan issues, glitches, or at worst breaking major rules such as being in possession of study materials or accessing your cell phone.
Holds average 3-5 days.
Thanks for the advice CiaMia,
I called them and again was not given any reason for the hold, just told to wait.
To be honest I am getting quite tired of waiting.
Thanks JustBeachyNurse,
My credit card has never been charged for an extra exam fee of $200. I just find it frustrating when I paid the regular exam fee and was told my scores would be ready to view in 48 hours and have been sitting here waiting since. I have job opportunities, school loans, bills to pay and need to get working ASAP.
I followed all the instructions, didn't touch my whiteboard thingy during the Tutorial, raised my hand every time I needed something and didn't take my cellphone or any study material into the test center.
I just wanted to share my frustrations with this process so that others can know that the PVT doesn't work for everybody and not to get discouraged. My test results are still on hold and although I find it frustrating, there is nothing that I can do about it.
Hope y'all have a good NCLEX
I'm confused about people that are saying they are getting a good pop up with an expired card. If you put in an expired card, all that happens is you cannot continue until you put in a valid expiration date. Literally, all that happens is you immediately get a tiny little line of text that says, "Please enter valid expiration date". Is this what you guys are interpreting as being the "bad pop up?...that tiny little message that tells you to enter a valid expiration date??
Thx!

Thank you for sharing. This is the exact message I was trying to convey when starting this discussion. Also wanted to post that I did pay for Quick Results and I did pass. Therefore, the PVT did not work for me as I stated. Remember it's only a "trick." I was upset after I didn't get the good pop up for no reason.
