The Pearson Vue website has changed in regards to how you can check the "trick" pass or fail, as of late August, 2014. You do have to input your credit card info, and press SUBMIT, and be willing to have your cc charged if you did in fact fail.
I took mine nclex RN this labor day weekend, AUG 30th at 8am. MY second time taking it. I took my time this time, actually took a break at 75 questions, since last time I took no breaks and had 1 1/2hr left in time! This time the computer shut off at 105 questions, had about 75% SATA, no peds, no calculations, no labs, no ekg, a lot of who would you see first. Very different exam compared to the first one-I had many of calculations, ekg strip, peds and lab questions.
Once I got home, the "old" trick did not work as it took me to the credit card page, I cried..but then my husband googled that Pearson Vue has changed the trick 2 days prior! I read the links confirming that by other nclex takers. So with that, I did put my cc info, clicked SUBMIT, and I got the good pop up! But with all the new changes I was not sure to believe this 100%. Sooooo....
You DO get your results in 48hrs, even if it is a holiday weekend! This morning I payed the $7.95 and got my unofficial results. I PASSED!!!
Hope this information will help future nclex takers and puts their minds at ease :)
P.S. I studied only Kaplan Qbank questions. About 50-100 per day. Reviewed all the rationales, as that is where all your content info is as well. Did about 1300, with an average of 60%

Yep. There are dozens of threads discussing this very topic started in this past few days alone. Congratulations in passing.
One caveat if you were charged and then it turns out you passed you would have donated $200 to Pearson Vue as there are no refunds.

I hope they don't charge you the $ 200!!!
They do not charge if you PASSED :) that I know 100%
Not always. At least two posted here that they were charged but passed per quick results.

You can always dispute the charge on your credit card if they do charge you after you've passed. It's not like you're stiffing Pearson Vue since you didn't get anything out of it (taking an actual exam) . That's why you use a credit card and not a debit card for a purchase like this. If your money is tied up for a bit with a credit card it's no biggie. Although I don't think I'll be doing this. I'll gladly pay the 8 bucks for unofficial results after 48 hrs.
I have been reading only positive outcomes since the "trick" change has happened recently with Pearson Vue website. Please read 'Ultimate Nclex Resources' website under New Information On Pearson Vue Trick, for the current and all positive reviews from recent nclex takers.
Still anecdotal evidence of a registration glitch. Not exactly statistical evidence on that site. It's a risk each person needs to weigh to see risk vs benefit.
The glitch as you call it, has been working for a pretty long time and has tamed many anxieties. This is your opinion, not a true statement of facts. Some of us have been willing to take the risk and some prefer to wait for the unofficial results. With that said, it is always good to know your options.
It's called a trick for a reason, this is fact not opinion. It's not an official method of determining pass or fail.
Only quick results and BoN notification are valid determinations of pass or fail.
Each individual needs to now weigh the risk of losing $200 if the charge goes through and they passed. For some the benefit is worth the risk.
With the previous "trick" there was (almost) no risk of being charged in error as entering a credit card was not necessary up until last week . But the trick only accurate 85-90% of the time based upon unscientific self reported surveys. There have been both false positive and more common false negatives with the previous "trick".

I also took mine August 30th .. And had to wait the dreaded 48 hrs ... My results were available at 9:30 am Labor Day and I was relieved to see that I passed !! :) .... I'm glad you can still see the results even on a holiday ! I honestly thought I was going to wait until Tuesday !
Congratulations. Seeing quick results available yesterday (and a pass!) must have felt wonderful.
