I'm GLAD they killed the PVT!!!Now, maybe... just maybe... we'll stop getting constant posts asking if it really works!
Nope, people are still doing it. It's not entirely gone, you just have to put in the CC info at this point (and from the sound of it, you may get charged some?). I still see them on the new grad FB page. Equal amount of complaining there about the PVT, mind you!
Back in my day, we took our boards in a big room with proctors and rows and rows of wooden desks in a huge room. The tests took two days, if I recall. I had to go into the big city and stay with my cousin. The rest of my class stayed in hotels, because they didn't have relatives there.
Then we waited. I don't think I got my results for a couple of months. Those times were harsh, but we were tough. I figured I passed because, well, I studied hard, I had done well in school, I took the review course, and my school prepared us well, even though it was a lowly ADN one.
We didn't have computers in those bygone times...
They're already trying to find other PVTs. At least the original PVT usually did work. Imagine all the posts asking if these new-fangled ones work!! Time for allnurses to buy a new server!
Did you hear that Allnurses is supposedly going to charge $8 for anyone who posts a "does this work?" question.
Oh brother. People need to grow up and get over it. The "trick" was never 100% accurate and never endorsed/addressed by Pearson Vue, and therefore, they aren't responsible for taking away a "trick" they didn't intentionally provide in the first place. I'm sure they were tired of getting calls about getting the positive/passing "trick" and then failing. God forbid they update their system to prevent people from getting unofficial results. In my opinion, Pearson Vue did test takers a favor. Move on, results will post when they're supposed to.

The PVT is not gone.... they just changed it and possibly made it much more likely that you'll be charged $200 for a new exam if you failed the most recent exam you took. If someone that did get the new good result posted screen shots (properly redacted of course) of all the steps, it would certainly remove any and all doubts about whether you could get charged or not by attempting the new PVT.

So I hear they killed the PVT. Seems unfair and mean. Target: desperate, impatient nursing grads. Showing off their power to make those grads pay a whole $8 to get their results like we had to do before the PVT.
So bullies?
