I finally passed the NCLEX after answering 265 questions. This was the 9th time I have taken this exam. Not to mention, it also took 17 years and approximately $3500 in testing fees, review books, etc. I have answered anywhere from 75 questions to all of them at one point or another. So I do not really feel that how many questions you answer is a determination of an absolute pass or fail decision. I gave up on this exam for a very long time and just came to the conclusion that I was not meant to pass and would have to do something else with my life. My oldest daughter just finished her first quarter of nursing clinicals and she gave me the inspiration to try it again. I took the Sylvia Rayfield 3 day review class and it was the best money I have ever spent. I learned so much and everything finally "came together". I took the exam a week later and passed. So to all of you out there who are struggling: It can be done!!! Don't give up and remember, if the computer goes past question 75, don't freak out, you have more time to demonstrate how intelligent you really are and as long as you are answering questions, you are still in the game and still have a chance!! Good luck to you all!!!
could you please share more information about Sylvia Rayfield 3 review course. i failed nclex pn on my first try and now waiting for my att to retest again.
The Review course is 3 days. It cost me 310.00 and I also received 2 books, 1 with a lot of questions to practice and the other with easy ways to remember drugs, diseases, etc. If you google Sylvia Rayfield review, it will bring up the information as far as review dates and locations. I know they have a review specifically for NCLEX PN as well. It was definitely worth the money and time spent in the review. Good luck with your test!!!! and don't ever give up!!!!:)
congratulations angela93 rn!!!!!!!! i am actually in a similar position i am in the process of applying to retake boards after being out of school for 8 years. thank you for the extra motivation.
thank you!!!! and good luck to you!!!! just practice all the questions you can. priority and delegation are huge!!
I failed my first attempt and got discouraged, but after reading your post Im back in the loop! I realized that I can't put to waste the two years of college for my nursing degree. My GPA was 3.98. Lots of sleepless nights. Im looking for refresher courses/reviews and I will try again, and again it needed. Thank you and congrats!

Each state is different, Florida for example will only allow you to fail 3 times and then you have to do a refresher course before they will allow you to sit a 4th time where as CA has no limit
