  1. I, along with 4 others took the NCLEX-RN w/ 75 questions, came home and got the "good" pop up. Found out as of last week, we ALL officially PASSED! The PV trick works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :p:p:yeah::redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe:lol2::lol2::lol2::lol2::p:p:p:p SO HAPPY!!!!!
  2. 24 SATA!? wow! Congratulations tho!!!! Did you take Kaplan??
  3. I graduated in May and am taking NCLEX July 26th in RI! ...been nauseous ever since I set my date....lol
  4. Wow! Congratulations to you!!!! :yeah: I'll be testing in a week....been nauseous ever since I got my date...lol
  5. I definitely freaked out when I saw all the required books for Nursing...lol, but I honestly never used 1 for class... bring your powerpoints for lecture and TAKE NOTES....don't waste your time looking in books.... you have the rest of your time to do that. I'm starting IV in the Fall.. and I've come to realize reading the chapters before lectures are very very helpful. But like I said, just bring your powerpoints for lecture! Don't stress your back!
  6. I'm starting IV this upcoming semester.... any advice?? I've already started meeting w/ my study group...but we're kind of just going over everything from Nurs II...not really sure which direction to head..just trying to get back in the mindframe. What are the differences between II and IV?????
  7. hmm.. no I do not. That's smart to use those NCLEX prep books throughout. I'll definitely be obtaining those for next semester. The only testing book that I have is Fundamentals Success..which has been great! It just doesn't cover every section.
  8. So, my final is tomorrow....and I feel as though I am well prepared. I've reviewed EVERYTHING! ...and have taken all the practice tests, questions I can find...via my text and online site through the text. What's my problem? I would like MORE questions. All the ones I have have been great to study...but now I feel as though I have nothing left to test myself with to see exactly how much I've retained. I checked under the "websites" thread and all of those sites listed seem to be nonexistant anymore. How is everyone preparing for the final?? Also, the only thing I seem to not be able to cram into my brain are the organizations for nursing...NLN, ANA, etc. I think just because I'm not interested in them...whereas I am everything else! I just want to go into the exam 100% confident that I'm good across the board. 150 questions and 3 hours to do it....slightly intimidating!:imbar
  9. Today is officially the first day after 3 weeks of classes/ clinical in the lab. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. We are going to a nursing home. How do the patients typically react to students?? Should I prepare for things to be thrown at me?! lol.
  10. How was the class online? Can I use the book I have (7th edition) and just purchase the access code from webct?
  11. Hello again... Well..good news is I got my OFFICIAL ACCEPTANCE just the other day. Apparantly though, the Flanagan day program is now at the Warwick campus..which isnt particularly my favorite campus.. but oh well... I'm IN! I can't wait for orientation this Thursday! I've already started getting my health records together and such. I also need to take a CPR class this summer! I'm taking dosage calc online this summer session that just started.. just to review, but also recently found out that I have to buy a different book for the online course vs. the book I already have which kind of stinks..but oh well. Anyways, congrats to all again!
  12. This thread has been helpful... I'm starting nursing school this September and am very nervous but at the same time extremely excited! I cannot wait to be a nurse! I cannot wait to learn everything I'm about to learn! I'm fortunate enough to be able to focus totally on school... I'm quitting my job, I have no children or husband.. (and don't plan to for a very long time!!) I'm extremely grateful for the support of my family, but I'm still so nervous! I completely admire those who work full time and raise a family while in nursing school... I really don't know how you do it period. :bowingpur These tips have been hepful... as of right now I'm curious as to what can I do to prepare for September? Or, should I just enjoy my life until I no longer have one for the next 2 years?
  13. Hey hey.. thanks for the support...... I do not go to the Warwick Campus, I'll be going to the Flanagan campus. I am very excited, but I'm waiting until the orientation to actually believe it's real..lol. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. But I do think I'm more ready for nursing school now than I was 3 years ago. So I guess the waiting has been kind of bittersweet. I worked at a few different places where I learned a lot about healthcare as a whole as well as laws regarding healthcare. I worked for the medical board for about 6 months, which was absolutely great! I learned so much! Processing case summaries of doctors who are getting their licenses revoked or suspended, you quickly learn what NOT to do...that was definitely my best professional experience as of yet. Anyone who is on the waiting list... I definitely reccomend working through a temp agency that recruits to hospitals. Just my little piece of advice.
  14. Hello! I'm also a CCRI student and I just got accepted for the day program starting in the Fall... I've been on the waiting list since July 2005! I completely agree w/ you on the fact that they are extremely vague as to whether your in or not, before your "officially in" if that makes sense. Over my three year or so wait, I've gotten into a lot of arguments with administration there, mostly because of the fact that everyone seems to tell you a different story. It's been a frustrating 3 years, but I'm definitely ready and excited and nervous at the same time! Are you going to orientation in May?
