Hi everyone... I go to CCRI
Hi PinkBMW! I would think you'd get in for Fall '09. I was accepted as an alternate for THIS fall and I didn't have all A's. B's in Anatomy, Physiology and Dosage. The rest of the classes I had A's. I haven't gotten a call yet, which is depressing, but I guess they can call a week into classes. I'm considering taking Dosage again this fall so I can have an A when I apply again. I also have to take the TEAS again because they upped the Math scores and I will miss it by a point or two. That was good advice to wait and take the TEAS-- I don't know how good with Math you are. (I'm NOT!) There are also a couple of Science and Anatomy questions on it. Good Luck with everything... Maybe we'll be going to school together in '09... if I don't go this year!

RIC students!
Maybe someone else exciting will play in Pawtucket soon, Tessa. It was fun! Just an update on all this Chem nonsense-- I guess I can't apply for this Spring to Nursing (at RIC) because I'd already have to be a student at RIC this fall, and the application deadline has already passed. So maybe next fall. I'm gonna go ahead and get started on some Chem classes at CCRI. I guess CCRI's CHEM 1190 is the equivalent to RIC's 106. So you need to take a Chem 1020 at CCRI before you can take 1180 and 1190, which are for healthcare majors. I'm taking a CHEM PLACEMENT TEST next Wednesday to see if I can place out of 1020 and maybe 1180... But I absolutely hate Chemistry and suck at it. That last time I took it was in HS about 11 years ago. I'm sure 1020 will be easy to place out of because it's mostly basic lab procedures which you use in all the other labs I've already taken for Anatomy... Physiology... Microbiology... Ugh it's so much science!! Well, there is a CRAZY thunderstorm rolling in, so I'm turning my computer off so it doesn't get fried. YAY! It's finally gonna rain! My garden will be happy. Goodnight everybody...

RIC students!
Thx Rhodygirl! So how many years do you have left, 3? Do you know if RIC offers anything during the summer? I know other schools do "accelerated program" type things but I don't know much about RIC. Just when you think you've got it all figured out at CCRI they like to confuse you. They're gonna make me crazy. Well, crazy-ER. On a lighter note, I just got back from the Paw Sox game, so I got to see Big Papi hit that homerun. It was really fun!! And so much cheaper than going to Fenway!! Have a good night everybody...

RIC students!
Haha! Thank you Tessa-- that's good news that it's ONE class. I definitely thought it was THREE of them. I wonder what the math/other requirements are like to take that one class. I emailed someone in admissions the other night, but maybe I'll try calling someone at RIC today because I haven't heard back from the e-mail.

RIC students!
I am thinking of submitting an application for the Spring (09) at RIC, can someone tell me all they know about the Chem requirements? I'm not sure I'd be able to get them done before I needed to send in the application... I'm an alternate for the Fall at CCRI... so I'm still waiting for them to CALL ME... but I think it's time to explore other options! OH THE FRUSTRATION. I'm off to do some deep breathing. How's everybody else doing?! I wish you all LESS stress... Erica

Hi everyone... I go to CCRI
GOT THAT SAME E-MAIL! (This one: FALL 2008 Nursing Program Update This is to inform you that the CCRI Nursing Department has reported that the fall 2008 Nursing Program is now full. All 2008 Performance-Based Nursing Applicants who did not gain acceptance into the program for 2008, are now officially withdrawn. We encourage you to submit a New Performance- Based Nursing Application in spring 2009. Thank You. CCRI Office of Enrollment Services) And I'm hoping I'm still an alternate... I would assume so, but who knows! They can call me the day classes start, that'd be fine.. as long as they call....!! My twin sister starts at St. Joe's in September and I'm kicking myself for not applying, because I would've gotten in... my grades are better than hers. Well, fingers crossed. Good Luck to everyone who is in the same boat.

Free CNA night classes?
Warwick Adult Education has a CNA class that meets at night but I think they only run it twice a year... like January and September. Google "Warwick Adult Ed" and give them a call. I was signed up for the last session but decided to take my Microbiology that semester at CCRI instead, to get it out of the way. They teach the class at Toll Gate... OH! And it's wayyyyy cheaper than CCRI...

Hi everyone... I go to CCRI
I didn't make it onto the waiting list-- I thought that after April of 2006 you didn't get onto the list?? I think the Merit-based App. is the only way I'll ever be accepted. (So let's hope this year is THE year.) Thanks for letting me know what Rob said about the Physiology and Dosage-- I did NOT like Physiology and had to take it twice...C then a B. I should've gotten an A the second time around!! Okay, I'm off to Microbiology. Have a good day everyone :nuke:
