Passed the NCLEX after 265 questions, 9th time

Published

I finally passed the NCLEX after answering 265 questions. This was the 9th time I have taken this exam. Not to mention, it also took 17 years and approximately $3500 in testing fees, review books, etc. I have answered anywhere from 75 questions to all of them at one point or another. So I do not really feel that how many questions you answer is a determination of an absolute pass or fail decision. I gave up on this exam for a very long time and just came to the conclusion that I was not meant to pass and would have to do something else with my life. My oldest daughter just finished her first quarter of nursing clinicals and she gave me the inspiration to try it again. I took the Sylvia Rayfield 3 day review class and it was the best money I have ever spent. I learned so much and everything finally "came together". I took the exam a week later and passed. So to all of you out there who are struggling: It can be done!!! Don't give up and remember, if the computer goes past question 75, don't freak out, you have more time to demonstrate how intelligent you really are and as long as you are answering questions, you are still in the game and still have a chance!! Good luck to you all!!! :nurse:

:) Congratulations on your accomplishment! Just wanted to mention that I also took the Sylvia Rafield course, and I agree, it was such an awesome review!!! Makes it really "click"...did for me anyway. I graduated 4 yrs ago this December. I tested today for the 6th and what I hope my final time. I did the PVT trick when I came home and got the "good" pop-up!! So here's hoping I did it! Congrats again to you and very happy that you didn't give up!! :)

Congratulations!
