Parkland Dallas, TX Nurse Residency Spring 2018

Nurses New Nurse

Published

Have been looking around in search that there might have been a thread started for the current application period for Parkland Hospital Dallas, Tx Nurse Residency for Dec 2017 grads, but have not seen one so decided to start this one. Is there anyone else out there that is applying to their program im interested in ICU and ED. I have always admired the willingness of the hospital staff when it comes to educating students and new hires, not to mention all the excellent experience that can be gained in this hospital. I am currently an LVN going into the last semester of transition graduating Dec 2017 (Thank you Lord), and have found a love with the ICU and the way it pushes me to think, adapt, and evaluate situations of the human body. So who out there is ready to get this thing going and be the best nurse possible??

Thank you! When I interviewed the lady told me they were taking 25 for this next residency. I am not sure if they are still doing interviews or not though. I know when she sent me the schedule to pick a day to interview on the last day she had was November 10th. So based on that I would say the last day is this friday. When I went to interview it was 3 of us there at that time slot to interview but we all interviewed separately though. But I can give you the recruiter email and phone if you want to ask her for sure?

That's interesting. Do you have your BSN?

@keunnamonae Oh ok and yea if you can give me the recruiter contact info I would really appreciate it. Do you think it would be too much to contact her or should I just wait?

Yes I am getting my BSN. I will private message you the contact information. And no I dont think that is too much at all! If you want that position go after it. I have gotten a lot of jobs by just calling and annoying people until they say you are hired. They like to see that you take the initiative and it shows you really want the job!

Those of you who are still looking, did y'all notice they put the ER Residency back up? Thought that was kind of weird.

Specializes in LTC, Pediatrics, Behavioral Health, Home Health.

Lol yes I saw that and quickly applied for it before it vanished once again

Yup, I noticed that too. My application status still shows "applied"....:sniff:

Congratulations @keunnamonae!

Thank you!

Congrats! May I have the contact info also for L&D recruiter?

Hi everyone. I just applied to all residencies available (even for L&D lol). For the ones who already got interviews and job offers, what interview questions do they ask?

They ask the typical questions everywhere else ask. tell about a difficult patient, how to do handle stress, how work under pressure, tell about time you went above and beyond for patient, that kind of stuff.
