Have been looking around in search that there might have been a thread started for the current application period for Parkland Hospital Dallas, Tx Nurse Residency for Dec 2017 grads, but have not seen one so decided to start this one. Is there anyone else out there that is applying to their program im interested in ICU and ED. I have always admired the willingness of the hospital staff when it comes to educating students and new hires, not to mention all the excellent experience that can be gained in this hospital. I am currently an LVN going into the last semester of transition graduating Dec 2017 (Thank you Lord), and have found a love with the ICU and the way it pushes me to think, adapt, and evaluate situations of the human body. So who out there is ready to get this thing going and be the best nurse possible??
Thank you for your response. I applied to the position when it opened, but I have not received any e-mails/notifications from parkland..Thank you for your help, I hope that I can still pass through the cracks, Parkland is definitely a great institution.
Same here, I have not received any e-mails or notifications. I hope to hear from them soon; just have to stay positive and hopeful.
Has anybody received an interview for General Surgery or Surgical PCU? I received an email asking for a copy of my BLS/CPR card in reference to the General Surgery position. My General Surgery and Surgical PCU applications have both been accessed and under "Next Step" it is blank. They both look like the Neuro ICU application, for which I have an interview. I'm extremely grateful for the Neuro ICU interview but since it isn't until mid-November I am extremely nervous. Plus I can only imagine that the Neuro ICU positions are extremely competitive. Good luck to everyone! Please keep us updated guys!
I would say it is a possibility you will get an interview for those other positions, my L&D position I applied to did the same thing it was assessed on a Monday and she didn't send me an email to interview until Thursday. They assess applications and then send out interview emails, and since they asked for CPR card they must be interested in you.
I would call if you want to.
Also, if anybody wanted to apply they opened another MICU/PCU position today on their website.
Mgarcia59,You say that they have an offer list and an alternate list. Does that mean they are done with their interview process then? How you explain it, I understand that they are just waiting to fill the 12 positions. thank you .
So sorry! I didn't receive notifications for your response. They have completed the interview process. I interviewed a couple weeks ago. They offered the position to 12 candidates and they have an alternate list of 10 other potential candidates if any of the original 12 decline the offer.

I attempted to apply to this MICU/PCU position and it was for the same position I applied to on the 26th so I couldn't. So it's like they are completely bypassing some applications because my status still says "applied". I don't know, but it's annoying. Lol
I also applied to the General Surgery position at Parkland and just got an email asking for a copy of my BLS/CPR card. If they do offer me an interview I'm hoping I can schedule it for the same day as my other one since I have to fly from MO. I'm definitely more interested in the Neuro ICU position but I would take either to get my foot in the door at Parkland.
Today, I got together with a couple of my friends I graduated with and they applied to various positions at parkland a while back. Apparently they got this CPR email as well, but never heard anything? I'm not sure if it's just an email the send out or if they are really actively looking into our applications.
Oh man. Well that's good to know! I'd love to get one more interview at Parkland because I don't have a lot of faith in getting a Neuro ICU job offer. All we have to do is wait. I think we'll all be so happy when this process is over!
You never know! Quite a bit of people I went to school with received offers at Parkland. Do practice interviews :) You've got it!

This happened to me too! I still have several applications that just say "applied".
