Have been looking around in search that there might have been a thread started for the current application period for Parkland Hospital Dallas, Tx Nurse Residency for Dec 2017 grads, but have not seen one so decided to start this one. Is there anyone else out there that is applying to their program im interested in ICU and ED. I have always admired the willingness of the hospital staff when it comes to educating students and new hires, not to mention all the excellent experience that can be gained in this hospital. I am currently an LVN going into the last semester of transition graduating Dec 2017 (Thank you Lord), and have found a love with the ICU and the way it pushes me to think, adapt, and evaluate situations of the human body. So who out there is ready to get this thing going and be the best nurse possible??

I will tell you that the Parkland has finally put up their ED and Surgical ICU residency, so I would go apply soon! I am also waiting on parkland, I applied for ED but only as my second choice. I'm waiting on the L&D residency to post.

I'm so glad this thread was started! I applied to NICU and just applied to ER and L&D. I was not offered the position for the NICU. HUGE BUMMER. So now it's a waiting game.
Have you applied to either positions yet? Good luck!
Yes I have applied for L&D, I saw that it opened when I looked this morning and applied immediately! I applied for the NICU one too? How do you know you didn't get it? I really want L&D though
I called this morning and she said my name wasn't on the offer list, but they have an alternate list which consists of 10 possible alternates and they'll go down the list if candidates decline the offer. However, the recruiter hasn't received the alternate list from the NICU, yet.
Oh so you already interviewed for the NICU position? Was that position for start date coming up then?
Yeah, I interviewed last Wednesday and the position is for Spring 2018 Residency. They interviewed 60 candidates and offered 12.
Oh I didn't even apply for NICU position until like last Friday so I missed that! But it ok, L&D is my first choice anyway! But that sucks, but you still have your other applications!
They moved pretty quickly with setting up interviews though after posting the job so hopefully L&D goes quick that that too
Hopefully! Fingers crossed! Good Luck! Parkland is such a competitive hospital. I have an offer with a different hospital, but it's faaaaaaaar from my first choice. NICU/Women's health is my first choice as well.
Good luck to you too! Yes parkland is very competitive but Good hospital to get good experience! I have a friend that works in postpartum. Yeah I had another interview for L&D for another hospital so I'm waiting to see what they say but Parkland is my first choice. And I'm supposed to have a interview for med surg but definitely not the area I want
