Parkland Dallas, TX Nurse Residency Spring 2018

Have been looking around in search that there might have been a thread started for the current application period for Parkland Hospital Dallas, Tx Nurse Residency for Dec 2017 grads, but have not seen one so decided to start this one. Is there anyone else out there that is applying to their program im interested in ICU and ED. I have always admired the willingness of the hospital staff when it comes to educating students and new hires, not to mention all the excellent experience that can be gained in this hospital. I am currently an LVN going into the last semester of transition graduating Dec 2017 (Thank you Lord), and have found a love with the ICU and the way it pushes me to think, adapt, and evaluate situations of the human body. So who out there is ready to get this thing going and be the best nurse possible??

Good luck to you too! Yes parkland is very competitive but Good hospital to get good experience! I have a friend that works in postpartum. Yeah I had another interview for L&D for another hospital so I'm waiting to see what they say but Parkland is my first choice. And I'm supposed to have a interview for med surg but definitely not the area I want

I called this morning and she said my name wasn't on the offer list, but they have an alternate list which consists of 10 possible alternates and they'll go down the list if candidates decline the offer. However, the recruiter hasn't received the alternate list from the NICU, yet.

I applied back in August to 6 MICU positions that were posted and rejected by 5, still have one that says in the review and applied for the SICU position the moment i saw it posted in clinical lol, how would I be able to get in touch with a recruiter to check on the application that has been in review for about 2 months? Parkland is my first choice far as learning and gaining a good experince.

Oh, no! I'm sorry. The only way I have the recruiter's contact info is because she reached out to me for the NICU interview. I'm not sure who the recruiter is for MICU/SICU. Maybe you can try contacting HR? Sorry, I'm not much help. Lol

@Renzo13 I think you got rejected from those other positions because when I called HR and asked about the resident positions that were listed back in August they said they were for their October start date. There is a MICU/PCU that posted Oct 19 up again now (If haven't applied for that, I would) and a Neuro ICU that recently posted. They already took the SICU position down so they maybe start calling for interviews soon. I would just contact HR because that how I found out when they would be posting the residencies.

I will give them a ring on Monday, I did apply to the MICU/PCU and did make the cut off for SICU position. I know that I am up against the world here especially with wanting to do critical care and all, maybe I just need to start bugging the people in HR LOL

I applied for the ER position! I threw together a Resume and Cover Letter at the last minute and submitted my application last week. I am glad that I did because the job was taken down the next day, so I must of been one of the last people to apply. I also applied for the MICU as well as the SICU and there is currently an L&D and General Surgery position posted for anyone that is interested. Right now, my application status states "Application Submitted. We are currently reviewing all applications".:nailbiting:.

Good luck! My status date for the L&D position I applied for changed to yesterday's date instead of the day I applied. So I think they looked at it. I think Parkland looks at all the apps. And then schedules interviews I think.

Oh wow that was fast! I applied really late and I think they really go by the first ones who apply. Lolim ok with that though it not really where I want. Have you heard from L&D or asked about it? Did your status date change on your application?
