Parkland Dallas, TX Nurse Residency Spring 2018

Nurses New Nurse

Published

Have been looking around in search that there might have been a thread started for the current application period for Parkland Hospital Dallas, Tx Nurse Residency for Dec 2017 grads, but have not seen one so decided to start this one. Is there anyone else out there that is applying to their program im interested in ICU and ED. I have always admired the willingness of the hospital staff when it comes to educating students and new hires, not to mention all the excellent experience that can be gained in this hospital. I am currently an LVN going into the last semester of transition graduating Dec 2017 (Thank you Lord), and have found a love with the ICU and the way it pushes me to think, adapt, and evaluate situations of the human body. So who out there is ready to get this thing going and be the best nurse possible??

Wow @keunnamonae this is amazing advice! I think I'lll screenshot this and read it right before my interview lol. I also got an interview for Hospitalist GN Residency this morning but I'm going to do my very best for this Neuro ICU interview. Thank you so much for the encouragement and support!

I got an email this morning for an interview for the surgical ICU at Parkland. Interview is scheduled for 11/29. Let's hope I get it. I also interviewed for Neuro ICU at BUMC and Trauma ICU at THR Dallas.

Specializes in LTC, Pediatrics, Behavioral Health, Home Health.

That is exciting; good luck to you. I hate I didn't get to apply for the SICU, but I had my interview for the PCU SICU this week.

This is not Parkland related, but MD Anderson Cancer Center has just opened up their residency application it will be closing in two weeks.

Congratulations @glowbug! Did they tell you when you can expect to hear back from them?

Yes, they stated by the end of the week 11/17.

It lasted about 20 minutes.

I just applied for the L&D position on Saturday night. Do y'all think it's too late for the Spring 2018 internship?

I'm not sure if y'all know of any career fairs going around, but I went to the one at Medical City Dallas/Children's last Thursday and was offered a position in mother/baby today! It was great because I got to speak directly to the director of Women's & Infant services along with the educator. For Medical City Children's, I got to speak to Pediatric supervisor. SO WORTH GOING TO! So I urge yall, if you know of a fair coming up, GO!!

I would just call phyllis (the recruiter for parkland L&D) and ask if they are still interviewing. I gave her info to some people on here, so idk if they contacted her and what she said. but if you want her info i can give it to you?
